Life time of living in BC has given me an appreciation for the absurd in politics and real life. Play bridge quite badly. Used to write. Love train travel. Happily married 40 years to man who does not play bridge and hates trains.

I mostly like Ian Hannomansing, but he deserved this.

Listened to Ruby Dhalla interview. I hope we're not that shallow as voters that our choice is dependant on ethnicity, not on chops. Anyway, not sorry to see her be disqualified. www.cbc.ca/player/play/...

I've been thinking about the common criticism that Canadian culture is just "not American." Here's the thing, though: that's only a thing that's thrown out because we have literally one neighbour. We're also not German, English or Australian, it's just the geography that brings up the not US thing

The latest I saw was not worded as comments but as proposal - which is not the same thing. @ianhanomansing.bsky.social needs to put the brakes on this.

Have to agree with this @ianhanomansing.bsky.social Back to the drawing board. You're going to kill Cross Country Checkup.

60 days? I hope this goes to October, just so he gets more unhappy about his falling polls. I expect support for CBC might be a positive factor in Liberal platform. I'd love to see CBC be as good as BBC, and no commercials will be nice.

The tin pot dictator has made me appreciate our constitutional monarchy.

Who else pronounces the first "r?" I do. Arctic too. I pronouce the "c."

In the aftermath of the first free trade agreement with US, Canada and especially Ontario lost a lot of manufacturing capacity. Maybe this is an opportunity to bring it back? All we need is entrepreneurs and some deep pockets and angel investors. Easy peasy lemon squeezy.

Thank you.

Best hockey quote ever.

Cross Country Checkup May 16, 1965 - February 23, 2025. It was a good run. @ianhanomansing.bsky.social

Whose stupid idea was this? It couldn't have been @ianhanomansing.bsky.social This is stepping into dangerous territory, where the idea is normalized. Please step back.

Today's tip of the day. Don't buy meme coins. Fools and their money are soon parted. If you want to invest, look into a company you like and use the products of. There are a lot of credible research sources that will confirm or deny that it is a good choice. Don't fall for flimflam.

Tis is the crux of the matter. Change the show @ianhanomansing.bsky.social

The special is called "51st State: A Cross Border Conversation". Not "American Invasion", or "Violent Annexation", because those might frighten people. No, better to use the framing of the man who's threatening us. We wouldn't want to be rude by spotlighting the violence those threats imply.

KIng George was not an absolute monarch. King Charles I was the last to try that.

I was a kid in the 60s. Older kids went backpacking to discover themselves & annoy Europeans. One friend would make a long distant collect call to her parents every couple of months using a ficticious name to let them know she was alive. If they wanted to talk to her they'd accept charges.

I'd watch it, if it was funny.

oh god I just realized we’re gonna get some James Bond origin story prestige series where he’s at a prep school gala and gets carded trying to order a martini and then winks straight into the camera
