This is how I would respond to the email Musk has had sent to government employees (not legal advice). 1. Refused to violate the law. 2. Refused to violate the Constitution. 3. Refused to bow or scrape. 4. Refused to bend a knee. 5. Deleted this stupid email.

(📢) MAJOR BREAKING NEWS: The Daily Beast publishes a sourced allegation that Trump has been a Russian spy since 1987 and then—possibly under some form of threat—deletes it. But in an act of unusual heroism, it left it up long enough for Wayback Machine to capture it text. Here it is (please share):

Climate Action Tracker: The climate is warming and sea levels rising way faster than governments are acting

Doesn't this guy have 2 non-whites up for confirmation? And they aren't the terribly unqualified for the positions? Hmmm

Has the Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) weakened over the last decades? In our new study, we combine state-of-the-art CMIP6 models and observation-based estimates of the air-sea heat flux in the North Atlantic to show that the AMOC has not declined since the 1960s! 🌊

Obviously the most reliable way to reduce aviation emissions is to fly less. But this is also important 👇 Five actionable measures than can and should be taken by the industry right now to reduce aviation's climate impact.

And contrails are responsible for up to half the climate impact of flying. This is huge ⬇️

🚨BREAKING: The Supreme Court has DENIED Big Oil's requests to review Honolulu's climate deception lawsuit. The decision keeps Honolulu and other communities on track to put Big Oil companies on trial for their climate lies. It's time to hold Big Oil accountable and make polluters pay.

Colleagues at ECCC are forecasting 1.45 ± 0.10°C above pre-industrial levels for 2025, slightly cooler than the record high temperature of 1.55°C of 2024 but virtually certain to be hotter than every year on record prior to 2023 #climatechange Full story at climatedata.ca/2025-forecas...

Super handy animation from Tim showing why 2024 being above 1.5ºC does not mean the long term global warming trend is there yet. Although we're ~ 1.37 (according to ERA5). 2030 is the @copernicusecmwf.bsky.social prediction also: apps.climate.copernicus.eu/global-tempe... 🌏🌊🧪⚒️📈🌡️

This is one of the neighborhoods that State Farm *already pulled out of* earlier this year, thanks in no small part to how climate change is exacerbating wildfire risk.

Climate Change: It's real. It's us. It's serious - and already dangerous. But there are solutions. The science is clear: the faster we cut emissions, the less suffering we will cause, and the better off we'll all be.

Bluesky is better than what X had become but I'm feeling tired of blocking hundreds of bots/trolls that only follow women and try to lure gullible ones with crude tactics, as well as getting too many followers with zero shared interests. Anyone else having that kind of experience?

Happy New Year! Any climate resolutions folks want to share? So far, I've been riding my bike more. A few years ago my resolution was getting fossil fuels out of my home. I did it and kept the last check from SoCalGas. What are you planning to do differently for yourself and the planet this year?

Many know that President Carter put solar panels on the White House. Fewer know that he signed PURPA, the law that kick started solar energy for the entire world. That legacy alone makes him one of the greats.

Love this!

Working in 3D is also something I enjoy doing. Years ago, I started with sculpting in just polymer clay and then added metalsmithing to the clay to combine color with stability. "Common Whitetail Dragonfly" #SciArt #invertefest
