I'll reiterate that when I watched the show I had my problems with it but I made my peace with what was on my screen. It's only been the fandom discourses/interactions from the creators since that have kinda ruined it for me.

an Ekko who would talk a girl out of s*icide and then take advantage of her is Not My Ekko on levels I cannot even begin to put into words. It's just Not Who He Is, Period. I don't think there's anything controversial about that statementπŸ˜΅β€πŸ’« but i'd be skinned for saying it aloud elsewhere lol.

that's the thing for me. I'll always be Team Lightcannon but I respect people who like Ekko with Jinx even if it's not for me. I just don't recognize THIS version of them getting peddled around since S2. it's so jawdroppingly OOC for both of them that it makes me almost as uncomfortable as J*lco. 😬

I'm not sure they actually like either of the characters? ekko gets reduced to this sexed up alpha male and jinx is his manic pixie trophy wife? who are these characters? I think they might just be in it for the horny, which...okay...but screaming 'canon' can gtfo, it ain't.

And I didn't mind it before. The old TB shippers were a different breed and in the same boat as us. The new ones ... ehhhhh.

And that's what i felt we got from the show? That Ekko gave up his dream romance to do the right thing for someone who couldn't love him back but needed a friend in a dark moment? Especially given the ending. That's how i read it anyway, but then the fandom happened 🀷

I think they're amazing as a broken friendship, and him "having a crush" or yearning for the Powder who never was and needing to accept the Jinx who is feels bittersweet and plays into his theme. Of course a time traveler would fall for a version of someone who doesn't exist in his timeline.

they're perfect. Have you seen Valoran Town or the Wild Rift trailer?

Trying to paint her recently taught me that Lux has a very consistent face across a lot of her splash art so yeah when it looks right it looks right πŸ‘

Any time! I got the brainrot so bad I wrote oodles of fanfic about them, they're all on my ao3 profile. Ill-Omen's and Beyond the End are the most Arcane-canon

Going to seem like a weird thing to say but thank you for getting her lips right.

This is hilarious but also Lux's face is so pretty aahhh

TL;DR: they are both LoL's poster girls, but it goes much deeper than that. They have eerily parallel stories (esp after Arcane and the Lux comic) with identity struggles & civil conflicts centering around them and a 'baby lesbians running hand in hand against the world' energy. They just WORK.

My two long discourse posts: www.tumblr.com/questionable... www.tumblr.com/questionable... The reply to TBSkyen is actually inaccurate; #Lightcannon is OLDER than I thought and predates Star Guardian by a year. There were already Jinx/Lux fics on ff.net only months after Jinx's initial release.

Hehe I could explain, do you want my TED talk or the TL:DR?
