Hey hey - look how the Wikipedia page for NZF begins! What that "A" word doing there - surely it's not allowed..?🤔

Shane Jones entered parliament following a career as a Māori Studies lecturer, in the Māori secretariat for the Environment Ministry & Dept of PM & Cabinet, advising on Treaty Settlements & then as a member of the Waitangi Fisheries Commission. Now he’s complaining about people saying ‘Aotearoa’.

Richard Harmon (a very experienced political reporter who runs the Politik newsletter) has focused on Seymour in his last few lead articles. Yesterday he was commenting on the obvious tension between Luxon & Seymour, & why Luxon has to hold back in public. Today he's asking if the govt can survive.

One News started with the sudden resignation of the Chief Exec of Te Whatu Ora/Health NZ. There's clearly friction with Levy & w the govt's 'cut it to the bone' approach. Very depressing, even before they moved onto the story about homeless people camping on the streets, but not on the housing list.

I hope we've all seen this. 😀 Of course, there's a lot of water to flow under the bridge, yet, but it's still an encouraging sign, this early in Luxon's term. www.stuff.co.nz/nz-news/3605...

If you missed this morning's RNZ discussion with 4 economists (2 from the right, 2 from the left), it's worth reading this. None of them is impressed by this government's management of the economy, so far, and nor by Luxon's back-to-the-future announcements this week. www.rnz.co.nz/news/nationa...

Why does Bryce Edwards' column in today's Herald, supposedly about the impact of lobbyists and influencers on National, actually skate right over that (just accepting it as a good thing - apparently Damien Grant is pleased, so that's fine) and spend most of the time attacking Labour..?🤔
