We used to live in a world where OANN would catch heat for a headline as blatantly racist as this. Good job @nytimes.com

For decades, the US government has painstakingly kept American science #1 globally—and every facet of American life has improved because of it. The internet? Flu shot? Ozempic? All grew out of federally-funded research. Now all that's being dismantled. 1/ www.technologyreview.com/2025/02/21/1...

Say that to my linked in bio

“I thought Trump would meticulously, and with expert care and acumen, examine our institutional infrastructure for inefficiencies and come up with thoughtful solutions” I don’t know what to say, I guess you should have believed your lying eyes and ears instead

These people are getting conned, but the culprit is themselves. Just like in 2016, people are projecting attributes onto Trump that he has either never displayed or in fact usually displays the exact opposite of. Idk what you do about that.

Finally, action. I too was cancelled for telling a joke and having a beer with my friends. I will not be taking questions about the joke or the friends at this time.

She’s creating new guardrails! These will replace the “remove the politician doing corrupt things” guardrail, which seemed pretty useful and straightforward but I’m sure these will be good too maybe.

Me: The shift manager at Wendy’s is forcing me to pay for the napkins out of pocket Normie friend: dang, well that’s the divine right of kings, what you gonna do? They rose to the top and deserve their unfettered power over 3rd shift

We keep waiting for the political (and executive) class to have finally “had enough” and be spurred into action through shock or horror. But it’s becoming increasingly clear that Trump’s main legacy may be creating a cultural permission structure for open corruption by anyone in power, at any scale.

As a strict empiricist, Elon believes that every 50 years we need to check if getting polio and drinking lead are still bad.

It’s okay B, you got duped by a liar in an administration that exclusively hires liars. Could have happened to anyone

We’re filing on behalf of a tangible vibe, your honor

I think most people are intuitively aware of this but something like the official White House account posting an “ASMR” video of shackled immigrants is not just cruel for its own sake, it’s intentional envelope-pushing to ramp up to desensitization over inhumane detention, camps, and deaths

Don’t let Trump distract you with the horrific, easily-conveyable, widely and transparently unpopular attack-ad-ready behavior! Remain endlessly mired in tedious sealioning gish-galloping terminological squabbles with Republican shitlords, that’s what wins elections clearly

The king comment was a joke. The salute was a joke. The claims of no more elections are a joke. The calls to deport all immigrants are jokes. The racism is a joke. The transphobia is a joke. The misogyny is a joke. Almost like they tell us everything is a joke to stop us reacting.

He just a little crown-curious

dems could pressure hochul to force adams out, forcing a week-long news cycle about donald trumps very obvious corruption or they could also do nothing and send a fundraising email

tfw you capitulated and ruined your credibility with millions of readers to appease the famously media-hostile administration that is still being hostile to media

I admit I’ve pushed the negative polarization myself because I don’t believe this will ultimately make anyone’s job easier. It’ll dramatically raise expectations for productivity, force your using it to keep up with peers, while being a potential disaster for the environment.

While most of these are incomprehensible slop, I think this is an allusion to a mythic Celtic warrior princess who wore the living head of an eagle to see enemy tribes (probably Proto-Germanic) from afar, so they could prepare defenses. Now that you have relief, I admit I made this up.
