TTC Feb 24 Board meeting wrapup: stevemunro.ca/2025/02/26/t...

Overheard at the northbound stop on Jarvis at Esplanade (St. Lawrence Market) at the uncleared snow mound: this must be Olivia Chow not clearing sidewalks. It doesn't matter if it's bad contract inherited from Tory. Chow wears it. Heads should roll.

Starting in May, the City and TTC will rebuild a water main and track at King & Church requiring transit diversions and priority measures. They are good, but more could be done especially where streetcars must turn along their diversion routes. stevemunro.ca/2025/02/18/k...

The TTC plans to install reserved lanes on Queens Quay East and on Front to improve bus service to the waterfront. A survey and consultation sessions are coming up this week. stevemunro.ca/2025/02/17/q... Now if only they ran more frequent service.

The TTC now publishes a list of streetcar slow order locations. It is embarrassingly inadequate and does not include standing orders covering the entire system. Even the sites listed contain errors. Why is TTC management so uninformed about its own system? stevemunro.ca/2025/02/17/s...

The Prince Edward Viaduct in snow.

If you're trying to get on a streetcar, this is the scene on King St. Foot high windrows block loading areas. Transit priority?

A long read for a snowy evening with lots of charts. At least one reader will be very pleased ;) In stevemunro.ca/2025/02/12/h... I review the lack of headway reliability on 504 King with a look back at the situation in past years. (1)

Wayfinding on transit is more than a consistent look and feel. An important aspect is placement and continuity so that riders see the message "this way" without gaps. Recently some bright spark at TTC decided to move video screens at some stations from edge to central spots on shared platforms.
