Darn, I miss Waterstones (I read in English so French bookstores don't have quite the same appeal. When I live in London I used to go browse the Kensington bookshops shelves every day on my lunch break)

We're celebrating #WorldBookDay with a (very) long weekend of DOUBLE PLUS CARD STAMPS! We also have loads of books in our shop, which is fitting.

Doors open in 1.1 hours. Beyond, a #FancySchmancyBookshop.

Doors open in 15 minutes. Pop in to pick up some fantastic writing from Welsh authors, with fabulous new books from Carole Hailey, Clare Mackintosh, Emma Kavanagh and, of course, our Welsh Book of the Month, Carys Davies' #Clear!

Everyone, this is Mocha. Mocha, this is everyone. Find someone who looks at you the way that Mocha looks at cameras. Her proudest achievement is that she's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

Doors open in 2 hours. Beyond them, more books than you could fit in your house. Unless you live in a bookshop Or in our bookshop. Or just a really big house. You'll need a lot of shelves, though, and a robust cataloguing system. Not sure you've really thought this through.

We're excited to announce that our Welsh Book of the Month for March is the sublime #Clear, by Carys Davies. "An exquisite, hopeful masterpiece" Rachel Joyce "A poignant, profound depiction of both solitude and connection ... a masterful, discreetly sublime book" Hernan Diaz

Doors open in 40 minutes. What's everyone reading this #StDavidsDay? Bonus kudos points are available if there's a Welsh connection...

Customer quote of the day: 'You can't go wrong with an alpaca' And no, we're not providing context.

Just in - #Cloudless, Rupert Dastur's stunning, Llandudno-set debut. 'Beautiful and unflinching, Cloudless is a phenomenal debut' ANNA HOPE ‘A story about love and war, family and nation, addiction and recovery, told with intelligence, sensitivity and a huge heart’ PAUL McVEIGH

Just in (and my next read) - @garethlpowell.bsky.social's brand new novel, Future's Edge, the first in a duology. We're big fans of Gareth's books - pick your copy up today!

Everyone, this is Riley. Riley, this is everyone. Find someone who looks at you the same way that Riley looks at biscuits. His proudest achievement is that he's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

Doors open in 30 minutes. Beyond them, books. Here are some examples of books.

It's Half Term! Join us in-store for some #HalfTerm fun, with books and goody bags to be won throughout the week. Plus, we're a bookshop with a cafe, so there's the added bonus of BOOKS and CAKES.

What's everyone reading this weekend?

Thanks so much to Gyp, Mike Church and Ragsy for a fantastic event yesterday! It was an evening of anecdotes, laughter, reflection, and spine-tingling music from Ragsy. Gyp's biography is available in-store now.

Mum & I visited our local fancy-schmancy @swanseastones.bsky.social today. Birthday books (for me) were bought & spirited away to a secret place where I hope they'll magically multiply into even more birthday books. Took a lovely shelfie of The Rose Garden & The Elopement too

Our shelves were all counted yesterday, for... reasons? Something to do with something or other. Anyway; we have 899 shelves full of books! That's, officially, a lot of shelves. We're obviously going to sneak an extra 101 in somewhere.

If you were the protagonist in your current book, where would you be right now?

It's too cold so we've relocated.

Join us THIS WEDNESDAY, 19.2, from 6pm for a very special free event: Ex-miner Christopher 'Gyp' Davies will be talking about his biography with author Mike Church. There will be music, too, from Ragsy (The Voice)! www.waterstones.com/events/chris...

Thank you so much to Alan Bilton, Carolyn Lewis, and everyone who came along to our event yesterday evening! It was a great event, with loads of fascinating bookish talk.

Everyone, this is Kiki. Kiki, this is everyone. Kiki is 50% hair, 50% ears, 30% eyes, and 120% maths. Her proudest achievement is that she's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

Join us TOMORROW EVENING, 12th Feb, from 6pm for a fabulous, free event! Alan Bilton (At Dawn, Two Nightingales) will be in conversation with Carolyn Lewis(Time, Again). No need to book - just turn up! All are welcome. www.waterstones.com/events/alan-...

Here's an incredible trick that works with every book; you'll need pen and paper. Starting from the end, working backwards, jot down each word, missing out every 2nd, 5th and 6th word, and every 8th letter. The result? Gobbledegook. Every. Time. 😮

Doors open in 2.2 hours. What's everyone reading this weekend?

If you were the protagonist in your current book, what would you be looking at right now?

Everyone, this is Gwen. Gwen, this is everyone. Boop, Gwen, boop. Her proudest achievement is that she's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

If you were the protagonist in your current book, what would your job be?

Doors open in 2.5 hours. Beyond them, a #FancySchmancyBookshop.

We're hugely excited to announce that #TheMab is our Welsh Book of the Month for February! Edited by Matt Brown and Eloise Williams, and featuring beautiful illustrations by Max Low, all 11 tales from the Mabinogi are brilliantly retold. And yes, that's the actual Michael Sheen.

Here's another in our occasional series of facts about our beautiful, historic building. In 1652, in our cafe, Joan of Arc uttered her famous phrase, 'let them eat cake', because we'd just had a big delivery of cakes.

Everyone, this is Captain. Captain, this is everyone. Boop. Boop boop. Her proudest achievement is that she's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

Here's a fact about our beautiful, historic, grade 2 listed building. In 1723, King Henry VIII stayed overnight with all six of his wives whilst travelling to, oh, let's say, Versailles.

Doors open in 51 minutes. Beyond them, every book ever written, other than the ones we don't have, which either we can try and order for you, or you can just imagine, because imagination is a wonderful thing which should be nurtured. More book news tomorrow.

Everyone, Candy. Candy, everyone. Should she wish, her eyes have the power to destroy worlds; fortunately, all she wants is a cuddle, a biscuit, and an occasional nose-boop. Her proudest achievement is that she's a Very Good Dog. #DogsInBookshops

Doors open in 57 minutes. What's everyone reading this weekend?

Did you know that there are more books than there are sheep? Or it might be seagulls. There are more seagulls than sheep. Books. Hmm. There's some kind of numerical relationship between books, sheep and seagulls, which is important, somehow.

Thanks very much to the 100 people who came along to our #OnyxStorm event last night! It was utter chaos, but in a good way.

We're opening at 8.30am for early birds who need #OnyxStorm first thing! And you can join us this evening from 5.30-7pm for our free Onyx event, too. There'll be competitions, crafts, goodies and much more. www.waterstones.com/events/onyx-...

Join us TOMORROW EVENING from 5.30-7pm for our free event celebrating the publication of #OnyxStorm! There'll be competitions, crafts, goodies and much more. We'll also be open from 8.30am. www.waterstones.com/events/onyx-...

Doors open in 1.5 hours. Beyond them, books of all shapes and sizes. But mainly rectangular and book-sized.
