So many of my friends and colleagues in the nonprofit space are losing their jobs due to federal funding freezes and cuts, and the elimination of refugee resettlement in the US. Just found out yesterday that a local org I collaborate with is cutting 30% of staff. 1/2

Look, it's long, but it's a very informative (and fun) look at the roots of the anti-vax movement in case you ever thought about buying into that movement. Rotten roots, rotten growth. youtu.be/8BIcAZxFfrc?...

In March of 2020, I was the leader of a statewide team of educators working to improve distance and online learning in adult education, and was 2 months into a 2-year term as president of our state professional organization. Then COVID hit. Suddenly, everyone in my field needed my expertise 1/4

Some people on my team may or may not have jobs tomorrow, and I have no useful information to share with them. This is not governance. This is intentional disruption of the entire US nonprofit sector with the express purpose of hurting vulnerable populations. minnesotanonprofits.org/freeze-of-fe...

I love it when I get up in the morning to read the news and discover those federal grants that fund my team are frozen for who knows how long. /s

So, I’m the world’s most boring heteronormative middle-aged white woman, but my life is vastly improved by all the queer folk in it and anybody comes in here making noise about them and I’m going to be a real mama bear. Got it? Good.

Brrr. When it’s cold enough that schools in Minnesota close, that’s the real deal. Glad to be working from home today!

Today's music post is dedicated to @corinnebusche.bsky.social. Best of luck and thanks for everything you did for us DA fans. It's not much But my money's on you youtu.be/ZM0ciMy85CU?...

New(ish) Rook, Ivy. Trying a Nightmare run. She's a little self-conscious about the scar and the damaged eye.

Anybody want a cookie?

I pray to the gods of homeownership, please spare me any more gifts this year. After the roof, the siding, and the washing machine I REALLY DIDN’T NEED A BROKEN SEWER LINE

Happy winter solstice day, everyone.

And now the with release of Veilguard and the simultaneous release of the 15th anniversary live recording of Lungs with the BBC Proms orchestra, the connection is stronger than ever. How is it possible that these two things I love just weave together?

Ever since some brilliant humans at Bioware decided to use a Florence & the Machine song on the soundtack of DAII, these two things have been inextricably linked in my mind. Florence's songs - especially those of Lungs, my all-time favorite album by any artist ever - are my mental soundtrack for DA.
