“I didn’t vote for this”

Donald Trump just unilaterally bombed Iran. A masked gang is terrorizing our streets. America has rapidly devolved into an authoritarian state. That's why, today, The Onion has purchased a full page ad in today's New York Times with a simple plea to Congress: Sit back and do absolutely nothing.

Saw this unexpected treat at the Petersen

i mean i guess this is a 'good point,' but we're also watching what theyre doing to regular ppl every day, and it's fumbling around drawing guns on ppl in public, smashing car windows, grabbing mothers from school parking lots. we're well beyond the 'imagine if' part

Well, that's a relief.

My wife just sent me this picture and I can't even.

"Nobody knows, least of all me."

This is a very good post and I wish that LA politicians who can't even be bothered to be on this platform might also try to experience our transit system and campaign on making it better.

I am glad that I subscribed to @wired.com , but I really wish they'd stop logging me out constantly.

We've been verifying dozens of social media videos documenting the conflict between Iran and Israel. But not all videos being shared online claiming to show the strikes are real. 13s

FBI Warns Second California Senator Still At Large theonion.com/fbi-war...

Incredible. Assuming this is the one at Wilshire and Veteran in West LA, literally nothing is happening there. This is 10+ miles from any demonstrations. What a pointless, expensive move.

i think this is exactly right

i've been trying to see what the right wing platforms (even outside of X) are showing people regarding the protests in LA and i am not sure it can be overstated just how much the AI slop is being used to reinforce the idea that downtown is a post-apocalyptic war zone

This took a while to get done, but I've chronicled my day among the protesters in Los Angeles, and the idea that this is anything but a celebration of cultural heritage and a firm, nonviolent demand to protect family, friends and neighbors is totally ridiculous. prospect.org/justice/crie...

why is the president the only person testing the limits of his power? everyone should see what they can get away with. what if zookeepers gave helicopters to gorillas? nobody has tried this

Immigration is good, actually.

I'm not proud of everything I've done in my life, but I do know that standing up for people when the Gestapo is showing up and kidnapping people at schools, hospitals, and courtrooms puts me on the right side of history. I won't have to live down the shame that some others will.

LAPD when they think nobody is watching

Rick Chambers on @ktla.com saying he's not sure why people are protesting.

I call on beloved LA band The Red Hot Chili Peppers to defuse tensions with a public performance of their song ‘Sir Psycho Sexy’

judging by the number of sirens and helicopters headed past us toward downtown i’d say it’s safe to commit a crime anywhere else in LA right now

Hello. I live in Los Angeles. The president is lying.

Have you fucking SJWs considered that if literally everything was different about this parade it would be cool

Oh my god, do something you useless cunt.

Cannot stress enough that this is a pitiful action by a weak, scared, pathetic group of insecure, wannabe authoritarians, and they should be mocked until the end of time for wanting to bring in the military over some people protesting them at a Home Depot.

If a seven-year-old can’t walk to the store the fault lies not with the parents but with the community.

Tim Walz gets it.

Pretty awesome that @jaketapper.bsky.social is wasting his time trying to plug his book about journalists and Biden's mental state instead of actually covering a far worse situation while it's actually happening.

Hey @governor.ca.gov, ICE agents throwing flashbangs at people in San Diego feels like something maybe you might want to address, or at least pretend like you care that it happened?

My “I’m not on ketamine” tweet has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my tweet

Interesting tactic at the end there. I'm guessing by replying "Y" you move the text out of spam purgatory and that enables links.

Emo Philips: a true SICKO. @theonion.com @emophilips.bsky.social

Saw these two eras of pickup truck parked next to one another and it almost looks like an optical illusion

@sfgate.com hi! I wanted to let you know that overall I actually like your articles, but you hijacking the back button not once, but at least twice, for ads every time I read one of your articles means that I don't click on them. I get wanting ad revenue, but you're actively hostile to readers.

As always, I appreciate the @nytimes.com doing everything it can to reassure me that cancelling my subscription was the correct choice.
