As predicted, in 2025 we will see more and more XR vendors give access to the camera frame. The question is whether they will let you run isolated algorithms or get the actual pixels with some latency / resolution constraint(s).

Looks like Vietnam is now joining China on restricting video game distribution on the app store without creating a joint-venture (51% owned by a local). I hope this trend doesn't continue as it will sadly mostly impact indie game developers and the local gaming communities :-/

Inserting C-style preprocessor macros inside a #SwiftUI view doesn't work because the SwiftUI view builder DSL requires complete view structures?

Prediction: I believe Apple is paving the way for a new app paradigm where regular apps will feed intents based on a pre-defined set of actions into the operating system. In turns, this allows Apple Intelligence to perform agentic tasks in a well defined & secure manner.

Am the only one still preferring to add a 2 letter prefix to my functions/classes/interfaces? The benefit of immediately removing the cognitive load of resolving ambiguous cross-module symbol names + keeping consistency throughout the codebase makes it worth it.

With the recent shutdown of Meta Spark as well as TikTok (in the United States), I do wonder if a atproto.com platform such as @skylight.social could be also be the new home for mobile AR filters, even better if the AR runtime/specs are open source!

Cursor + VisionOS development experience update, still awesome but some friction: - Impossible to Run & Debug directly on device (simulator is fine) - Build & Run from Cursor is several seconds longer than Xcode's - Bridging Header (.h) not playing nice with Swift / SourceKit #sweetpad #cursor
