Great work by Dr. Jason Harris and colleagues at Harvard. First true in-depth evaluation of immune response to Klebsiella bacteremia in humans! Antibody responses in Klebsiella pneumoniae bloodstream infection: a prospective cohort study - The Lancet Microbe www.thelancet.com/journals/lan...

This will be a really exciting webinar, don't miss it if you are working in the AMR genomics field

Two more weeks to apply to join us in Paris ! research.pasteur.fr/en/call/call...

What do you think are the critical features pathogen genomic data-sharing platforms require to meet the public health need? Please participate in this public consultation!

🧬 Save the date! The EMBO Workshop "The Immune System of Bacteria" will uncover groundbreaking insights into bacterial defense systems. Join us April 8-10, 2025, at Institut Pasteur, Paris. Submit your abstracts by Feb. 28 👉 https://www.sisb2025.conferences-pasteur.org/home

📣Our latest paper is out now in mSystems: Not quite as it may seem - investigating #plasmid diversity and evolution in #Klebsiella pneumoniae at a single institution over time. A short thread 🧵 @zaminiqbal.bsky.social

It's that time of year! Registration and abstract submission for the 6th Klebsiella Seminar Series is now open. Participation is free and abstracts are due by February 16th. See the link below for details, and reach out to the organizers with any questions: forms.gle/gxbvaC6FjzuS... #KlebClub

#KLEBS2024 replay now available at www.klebs-2024.conferences-pasteur.org/replay - great opportunity to catch-up about #Klebsiella or to relive the conference - enjoy!

New preprint. Large genomes vibriophages have it all: multiple functions, autonomy (full set of tRNA genes!), anti-defenses, broad host range. Yet, they remain rare, pinpointing the limits of generalists. Great collaboration with @fredoleroux.bsky.social led by Charles Bernard in our lab.

Incredibly excited to share that our manuscript was just published in @nature.com ! What a way to start the new year! 🎉 https://buff.ly/4gyYCzx We present phylowave, a framework that enables to learn the fitness dynamics of pathogens from phylogenies. 🧵 A thread... 1/n #IDSky #IDModelling

Really scary - NDM-1-producing #Klebsiella pneumoniae and other essentially untreatable XDR pathogens are infecting injured soldiers. New antibiotics can't come fast enough. www.science.org/content/arti... #AMR

In this blog @katholt.bsky.social sheds light on Klebsiella pneumoniae, a major cause of hospital-acquired infections 🦠 and a key player in the global antimicrobial resistance crisis. 📖 Read more: bit.ly/41gOzKF @lshtm.bsky.social @megancarey.bsky.social @cmcrodrigues.bsky.social

"Wuhan lab samples hold no close relatives to virus behind COVID" That should settle it, right? The problem, of course, it won't because we're dealing with conspiracy theories and not scientific inquiry - no amount of additional data will change un-evidenced beliefs. www.nature.com/articles/d41...

The #AMR2024 conference report is out! www.nature.com/articles/s44... Read to re-live a great meeting or see what you missed! Thanks @charlotteechong.bsky.social and the amazing ECR team who led on this, and pls bookmark Mar 23 - 25 2026 in your calendars for #AMR2026 by @eventswcs.bsky.social

BIGSdb v1.50.0 has been released, introducing support for registering fields from the output of third-party analysis tools and then using these in queries and analyses (image shows querying hicap results in H. influenzae database).

Finally, this great effort for the Klebsiella community is out! Congrats to daniela Rothschild & @fnobrega.bsky.social

Back in Argentina after the #KlebsiellaSymposium at @pasteur.fr. Grateful to the organizers @sylvainbrisse.bsky.social and @chcrestani.bsky.social for the opportunity to present my work on #Klebsiella in #Wastewater and to connect with brilliant researchers. Inspired and honored!

#pertussis latest epidemiolgical report from France (by Santé publique France) indicates the large 2024 peak is behind us, but let's stay vigilant www.santepubliquefrance.fr/maladies-et-...

Fantastic opportunity for students all over the world, interested in genomics, to pursue a PhD at the Sanger Institute in Cambridge. I was lucky enough to join the Sanger PhD Program in 2005 (OMG 20 years ago!) and it changed my life in so many ways.

BIGSdb v1.49.1 has been released. This version improves the layout of user registration and admin pages, and provides the option to export LIN code prefixes of specified length in the Export plugin. BIGSdb powers the databases on pubmlst.org and bigsdb.pasteur.fr. github.com/kjolley/BIGS...

Extremely happy and honored to have presented my PhD work at the first ever Klebsiella Symposium #KLEBS2024! 🙌 Huge thanks to the organizing committee, especially @chcrestani.bsky.social and @sylvainbrisse.bsky.social, for such a great event!

Good way to start here on bluesky: excited to share the latest contribution back from my PhD @biupasteur.bsky.social - and the end of a long standing chapter! Many thanks to everyone involved! We made a short video summarising our findings: youtu.be/liJmZ51_Oxg

Thanks @sylvainbrisse.bsky.social for involving me in KlebNET-GSP as project manager 3y ago, it was a very enriching experience! Thanks to all the attendees of #KLEBS2024 for making this a great success, it was our best reward! And thanks to the @gatesfoundation.bsky.social for making it possible!

Reposting our preprint presented at #KLEBS2024 where we sailed the seven seas of the #Klebsiella pneumoniae species complex 🏴☠️and charted an atlas of our travels. We present a population metabolism study of 7835 genomes + metabolic models, in vitro validation and co-cultures. doi.org/10.1101/2024...

Time to say 'Au revoir Paris' after a fantastic #KLEBS2024. Great science and great people. So proud to have @tomstantonmicro.bsky.social @kalanip.bsky.social @bananabenana.bsky.social representing the lab, and congrats to Tom and Kalani for their poster prizes! 👏

#KLEBS2024 has just finished, big thanks to @chcrestani.bsky.social for her fantastic help in organizing

Really enjoyed #KLEBS2024. A lot of the mechanistic and Klebsiella-host interaction work was mind-blowing, and left me with lots to think about. I hope this conference becomes a regular event. Many thanks to the organising committee for a job well done.

#KLEBS2024 last day starting, with great speakers on genomics, evolution and novel therapies. Let’s fight back Klebsiella!
