Giant Butterbur flowering at Watergate Bay #Cornwall this week, only 3.5 hours late for #wildflowerhour Petasites japonicus

Green Speedwell growing in aggregate on a grave at Nanstallon near Bodmin today. I did a check to make sure it wasn't Pale Speedwell (V. cymbalaria), but leaves wrong shape, less hairy and anthers wrong colour for that.

Spring starting to show properly now on the rural road verges in Nanstallon, near Bodmin today. Drifts of Lesser Celandines now flowering and numerous clumps of Snowdrops (Galanthus nivalis) had spread itself all along a stream bankside. #Cornwall

Petasites japonicus along the stream bank at Watergate Bay #Cornwall today.

A surprise find of Heath Groundsel on the sandy road verge by Harlyn Bay car park today. One previous record from 2009 at the other end of the monad. Senecio sylvaticus @richardmabbutt.bsky.social

Impatiently waiting for April so I can identify some of the intriguing dandelions I keep finding. Harlyn Bay #Cornwall

Sticky mouse-ear almost in flower now in a Truro car park today. Cerastium glomeratum

We had a bit of sun this afternoon, though a stiff SE breeze kept it cool. Gyllangvase Beach near Falmouth

A very hairy plant (name unknown) from a hanging basket in my garden to show hairy leaves close up.

A Soft Rush leaf from a plant self seeded into a hanging basket at home.

Stigma/style, anther/stamen and sepal edge of a Rhodedendron growing in my garden. Photographed using a Tomlov microscope

Close up photos of a Bristly Oxtongue leaf using my new toy of a Tomlov microscope to photograph it.

I treated myself to a Tomlov video display microscope recently. It links to my laptop and you can take photos or videos. Ideal for plants. 1st time using it. Inspired by @trisnorton.bsky.social on hantsplants.uk where he mentions using one.
