Popping in to share: Bluesky now has over 10 million users, and I was #125,376! I could not wait to join. I first heard of BlueSky being made in 2020 and wanted in since. Also, I will not be on this account until late January for my mental health. I'm ok-ish. See you all next year 👋.

Yeah I keep seeing this reaction, but it’s wholly at odds with the history of these things. The bump Reagan got was short lived and that was the exception to the rule. TR, George Wallace, Gerald Ford all survived attacks but did not win their races.

My best plan is to stay right where I am. I've thought for years about what I could do to protect myself, and the sad conclusion is that I am safest where I am, in the US, in this blue state. Short of someone taking me in abroad and letting me hide if things go full fash, I have no other options.

I have never used autocorrect at any point in my life. When it was introduced it seemed so confusing to me and having a computer complete words for me felt like it completely broke my ability to think as I type. I am definitely in a minority here (and neurodivergent), but still, I'll never get it!

Mrs. Alito says she's "from Germany." She was born there while her dad was serving on an Air Force base. They moved back when she was a toddler. Her parents were from Oklahoma & Kentucky. So for her to say "I'm from Germany" suggests a real deep reason to identify with something about that country
