Guest speaker next week discussing the #DiabetesTechCantWait campaign. Where we are now & what’s still to be done. Listen on X or YouTube search for @Diabetes_Chat/@DiabetesChat @skintomcginto.bsky.social @diabeteschat.bsky.social

Yet I’ve been publicly scolded for saying if you’re not part of the solution you’re part of the problem.

Today in the @thescotsmanpaper.bsky.social “Accountant are making clinical decisions” Have you any comment @jennimintomsp.bsky.social ? www.scotsman.com/news/politic...

Not been on in ages. Have I missed much?!

It was hard to keep up with the debate & post on all the SoMe platforms. Ive just copied & pasted from one platform to another. Please Share. We need change in Scotland. #T1D #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social £29 million in 2016 plus £8.8 million for this year is still only £4.2 million per year over the last 9 years. The current estimate for providing tech to all 36,000 #T1D in Scotland is around £120 million per year. #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate Tonights debate is about Diabetes Tech insulin pumps & Hcl these are only prescribed for Type 1 diabetics. Why are we discussing type 2?? #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social unding has been given to give what is needed but its ok to prescribe on cost efficiencies to get more people on tech. Safety is paramount. You cannot rely on inaccurate sensors or let children have systems that parents cant follow. #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate. @jennimintomsp.bsky.social is recapping on the ANIA program & the £29mil given since 2016 for diabetes tech. We are all aware that all of this money was not used exclusively for Diabetes Tech. #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate Miles Briggs also had a friend he's reflecting on when they worked together & she had to go & test her blood in the middle of a shift #DiabetesDebateScotland

Last nights debate Thank you to @foysolchoudhury.bsky.social for bringing a Type 1 Diabetes Technology debate to @ScotParl this evening. You & your teams hard work on getting a Cross Party debate on this important topic is very much appreciated 💙 #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social closes by confirming the recurring £8.8 million funding & thanks the Type 1 community across Scotland "who have enabled this transformational change & hope we can continue to work together to support access to tech for all" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social says "advances in technology are frequent & we want to be ready to pivot to any opportunity to support at pace" but is "unable to confirm expansion rate for the next financial year" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social adds in order to "maximise access to these kits while also providing safe, effective care with more cost efficient brands...therefore our clinicians may offer the lower priced brand to allow more of their patients to access the technology" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Debate @jennimintomsp.bsky.social says she is aware of "growing concerns of children who are not able to access most appropriate technology for their needs" but says "the National Onboarding programme has adequate funding to provide any CGM brand available on the market" #DiabetesDebateScotland

from last nights debate However @jennimintomsp.bsky.social recognises that with over 35,000 peple living with Type 1 Diabetes in Scotland "demand for Diabetes tech currently outstrips capacity in the system" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Well done to @Miles4Lothian (Miles Briggs MSP) calling on Health Minister @jennimintomsp.bsky.social to take action "to tackle the levels of service expected in Lothian which have fallen way below what any of us would expect" during #DiabetesDebateScotland

from last nights debate @Miles4Lothian (Miles Briggs adding that "the technology we now have can transform lives" & urging @ScotParl MSPs that "we should all be wanting to see our constituents have access" #DiabetesDebateScotland

from last nights debate @Miles4Lothian finishes saying we should not see discrimination & if this [technology] is to be provided it has to be equitable #DiabetesDebateScotland

from last nights Diabetes Tech debate @SarahBoyack highlighting that "even in our capital city we cannot roll out [Hybrid Closed Loops] at the pace required" & why "investing in the tech is so vital, it saves money & capacity across the NHS" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Info from last nights debate @SarahBoyack "it cannot be right that people on lower incomes in Lothian are less likely to access this tech...it is life changing tech...we need to see those patients who could benefit from this tech now receive it as soon as possible" #DiabetesDebateScotland

Thank you @foysolchoudhury.bsky.social #DiabetesDebateScotland #DiabetesTechCantWait #DiabetesChat #GBDoc www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/local-n...

Thank you all for speaking @jennimintomsp.bsky.social have you seen this #DiabetesDebateScotland #DiabetesTechCantWait

Part of the amazing team fighting for access to Diabetes Tech in Scotland. Thank you all. #DiabetesDebateScotland

Thank you for listening to the Type 1 community in Scotland & fighting for us. I learnt from some of your peers tonight that they still have a lot to learn about Type 1 diabetes.

I listened to the Debate on Diabetes Tech in the @scotparl.bsky.social looking forward to reading the transcript to make sure I heard everything correctly. Especially when an MSP spoke about preventing type 1. I'll post more tomorrow #DiabetesDebateScotland www.parliament.scot/chamber-and-...

I have made a post about how to compare hybrid closed loop insulin pump systems! It can be hard to make an informed decision whilst comparing the different systems, and DSN Forum UK have made a handy chart to do this. www.pumptasticscot.co.uk/post/choosin... #gbdoc #type1diabetes #t1d

Tomorrow (7/1/25) evening around 1710. There will be a debate in the Scottish Parliament about access to Diabetes Tech in Scotland. If you can’t attend in person you can watch it here. #DiabetesTechCantWait #DiabetesChat #GBDoc #T1Diabetes Please retweet t.co/ZDmUFsOCnA

Time for the Scottish budget again. I mind waiting last year with such hope & trepidation. Would we get extra funding for Diabetes Tech? We didn’t. With the extra funding for the NHS, will there be more money for tech? #DiabetesTechCantWait #T1D #GBDoc #DiabetesChat

Over on X, our weekly chat is about to begin! We are going to trial posting questions over on BlueSky too, and see what response we get... @wendyt13.bsky.social is your host over on X and is discussing Routines and changes in routines! Keep your eyes peeled for incoming Qs! #GBDoc #WeeklyChat

I’m looking for 20 people with Android phones and EPI (same as PEI: exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) to help test PERT Pilot for Android! Interested in testing? Add your email here bit.ly/3Z2ESN6 & I will send you the link to test. (Email not used for anything else).

These are brilliant chats. You should tune in & have a listen

Horrifying story. Also a reminder that insulin is among the most dangerous of prescription drugs. While insulin murders are rare, unintentional overdose happens all the time. People with #type1diabetes must guess at the correct dose multiple times a day. It's very easy to make a mistake.

Wasn’t sure if I wanted sweet or savoury. These hit the spot
