Lorca could talk to you into it if you didn't catch on that he was being literal with that "universal law is for lackeys, context is for kings" part. #StarTrek

Resin on river has now hardened and I’ve removed the masking tape dam and repainted fascia. I will be adding a ripple effect in a couple of weeks time. #bsmrguk #modelrailway

"Marvel Studios and a crew of indie veterans who sold out present “Thunderbolts*" Movie descriptions are getting snippy. www.fandango.com/thunderbolts...

1Z44 arriving into Euston from Dent on Wednesday evening. D1935 "Roger Hosking MA 1925-2013" making up the reverse, a train with a long, colourful history. #uktrains #trains

A feast of tasty traction at the self-styled rural capital of food, Melton Mowbray, this morning.

Penn Station is the best name for Penn Station.

This is one part of railroad history I haven't rushed to learn, but then looking at the historic timeline trains are incredibly safe. What surprised me about this is that there were 700 passengers on the 7 car train.

In which a self-described "train nerd" gets fed up of news organisations writing up his videos as their own articles and feeds them a long list of fun facts about the Underground. Well, I say "facts", I mean... www.youtube.com/watch?v=FLpO...

Fancy birthday dinner in a train. 👍

Take a train.... torontosun.com/news/world/d...

Some hard numbers for a loaded container of model trains being slammed with the 145% tarrifs: Also the real silent killer of the economy: even if things are manufactured/assembled here, almost everyone relies on parts from a variety of different countries. Excerpts from a trains/MR interview.

Now boarding on track 1, the Extraboard has plenty of seating! Take a ride tonight with railroad chat and a new project on Twitch! 8pm CDT/ 6pm PDT m.twitch.tv/approachdive... #twitch #modeltrains #railroad

I got a little too ambitious and changed out the power chassis with the Marklin truck chassis, to be able to entrain the DD-51, some TM passenger cars, the F7 EMD, the ridiculously long dining car, and a bunch of freight cars. The TM to Roku Shorty coupling didn't do well. It can actually pull cars.

Even the Red Ryder BB gun had a stabilized, target-finding barrel, but other than that looked like they always did, even the same lever action. "This is the most special gift pa has ever gotten me." His grandfather standing next to him looked out towards the perimeter, always wary. 1/3 #SciFiFri

A bit more tweaking the gradient and now Blink Bonny climbs the hill ok. Next step is to fix the supports in place and build the track bed. #modelrail #modelrailway #modelrailroad

You probably guessed "use a wrist strap or stand on an antistatic pad" but one thing I hadn't thought about was static grass applicators and the damage they could do.

The imaginary engineers said the white hood was too bright on sunny days, so we pivoted and made it black. So, it'll look like this but better and not shiny.

Watching Star Trek Lower Decks S5E2 and thinking about model railroading in a post-scarcity world. Will people still build them, or will we all be talking about the best replicator techniques for making 1:1000 locomotives?

Slept badly and woke up feeling despondent, so put Lower Decks on in the background. TV sucks but some shows have rousing music and characters that get over how they're feeling and keep going.

Last thought for the night... fishing line. Could you use a really thin glue to glue pieces of fishing line to a z scale loco or car where you needed texture? Also, can't wait for it to be ready for the dull coat.

Brush gel is a great invention.

The engineer likes to get it up to speed to dry the paint.

After that model railroad car went plunging off the "ravine" last week, I've instituted marshmallow-based safety features.

Whenever someone starts out "There are two types of people..." I want to cut them off with "No there aren't."

Drop an admiral? Nowadays we may need to pick them back up and restore them to honored places. I don't know if they removed the first female admiral from the Navy's site, but that whole business of removing pages from mil sites was just disgusting and we've already forgotten it happened.

Tempting idea for a model railroad layout but it's so fantastic it might not look believable, even if you got it exactly right.
