One of the reasons why I love @bsky.app is that you can easily stop and rewind videos. On that M*ta site, video starts playing and you have to wait for it to come around. Only occasionally does a pause button appear. Thanks, butterfly, for letting me control my experience, which fits my needs.

Loved this shoutout, @olbermann.bsky.social

Happy Birthday, William S. Burroughs, gone but not forgotten. You beautiful, freaky bastard. Your influence is so large and deep, most will never know they were touched by your mugwampy fingers.

@olbermann.bsky.social Happy Birthday, Keith!

From @ruedoran on instagram, written by @davidrigano (@davidrigano.bsky.social?). Love this so much.

That's some bullshit right there.

I hate having to re-find my follows on new platforms. It sucks. It's draining, tbh. And it sucks that tiktok was taken down, and what it will be next will be something different, and tainted. I get that. But...

I get a lot of people at my door begging for money for hospital care. I am happy to give. I have been blessed. But from now on, I will first ask who they voted for.

Can't wait for the @neilhimself.neilgaiman.com follow up to _Neverwhere_ that incorporates these names.

Over at InfoWorld I took a long look at Microsoft Research's Phi-series of SLMs, which recently switched from a research license to MIT. I find SLMs fascinating, as it's an approach that could help build applications much like those envisaged by early software agent researchers.

One of my old positions is open again. 3rd time in 4 years, I think. Not surprised they can't keep an employee. This time, they have made it a remote job instead of in-house. When I was there, I was told there was no path of advancement and no way to get promoted. Good luck, whomever gets it.

Emmys are the same night as the Iowa Caucuses? Gonna be a whole lot of losing going on.

The below message is your warning/inspiration for 2024, thanks to inspirobot.me. And thank you to @geekgrammy.com for the link.

First day on BlueSky. Found a lot of people I like. I am thankful for that and for @kahn265.bsky.social for the invite.
