This is it in a nutshell. They don't want to work out a picture, they don't want to have an idea and develop it with sketches or brush strokes that take it in new, better directions and they certainly don't want to learn from mistakes, they just want to be given something.

20 years ago I knew a guy who worked part time, minimum wage, as a dishwasher. He was able to afford rent and a car (both shitty but functional), concerts, weed, etc. It's interesting to think of how that kind of dirtbag lifestyle is mostly just gone.
