Musk staffers are in the process of seizing control of the Peace Corps’ headquarters.

This is part of what’s so insane. As they talk about re-shoring and manufacturing they are actively trying to destroy an entire us manufacturing industry that already exists.

JPMorgan has published a research note raising its odds of a global recession to 60% in response to Trump’s tariffs.

The survey found that among Democratic likely voters in the 2028 New York primary: • 55% leaned AOC • 36% leaned Schumer • 9% were undecided This is just the latest sign that Schumer’s standing among the Democratic base has taken a hit: politi.co/43FMOI6 📷 Francis Chung / POLITICO

This isn't just donalds doing. The Republicans in Congress own this. They had the ability to stop him and they didn't. This isn't donalds economy, this is the republican economy.

Stock market’s crashing, retirement savings are disappearing… and he’s out golfing.

anyone reading this with a pikachu face hasn’t been paying attention. dude ran into the loving arms of the redpilled right when similar stories started coming out years ago.

In the "personal news" department, this morning I let my colleagues know that I'm leaving The Washington Post. I'm retiring from my longtime journalistic home but not from journalism, and I'll keep you posted as I decide what my next chapter will be.

A few GOP Senators and Reps could join Dems right now to end the fake emergency justifying Trump's tariffs. He'd veto. Let him. Ds can pressure Rs to override. They should hound Rs on this. On the pod, @normornstein.bsky.social brilliantly lays out this path forward: newrepublic.com/article/1936...

Trump circumvented Congress on tariffs by declaring a Fentanyl emergency. A handful of Republicans in Congress can stop the tariffs by joining with Democrats. Call your electeds and tell them.

There's a lot going on, God knows, but don't miss that the President of the United States is using the full force of the Federal government, as well as tax dollars, to punish a state because its Governor... refused to do as he instructed. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/02/u...

you have to be genuinely stupid as fuck to think american companies are going to respond to tariffs by building factories and moving manufacturing to the US. i don't know how else to say it. you have to be genuinely braindead

We had it so good…

Yes, the stock market may be tanking and our national security apparatus has never been more vulnerable and we're on the verge of both economic collapse and war, but it was all worth it to keep pronouns out of email signatures.

Alienate our allies Crash the market Devalue the dollar Spike prices Dismantle the federal government Cause immigrants to live in fear Make others not want to come here If you made a blueprint for how to hurt 🇺🇸, it would look a lot like this Putin is enjoying the show

JPMorgan raises recession odds this year to 60%.

Then I’m sure they won’t be asking for government subsidies to compensate for the impacts tariffs have on them.

There are 33m companies in the USA. Only 21k employe 500 or more. And they only make up 23% of workers. Trump and Elon are ignoring the more than 32m entrepreneurs that can't afford to build a new factory or pay tariffs or absorb cancelled contracts.

I’ve got a message for Donald Trump and Elon Musk on behalf of the millions of Americans—including 1.5 million Massachusetts residents—who’ve paid into this program throughout their working lives and now count on the benefits they’ve earned: Get your hands off Social Security.

Good God. The incompetence is staggering

😑

State media.

They want to imprison anyone for burning down a Tesla. For 20 years. How much for burning down the stock market?

Right after posting that China is “panicking”, Trump from the golf course begs the Fed to bail his dumb ass out.

The stock market has now lost over $9 trillion in value since Trump took office this year. $5 trillion of that loss has been in the past two days.

Rumors about Elon Musk leaving DOGE were just a distraction—likely spread to prop up the stock after Tesla posted its worst delivery numbers in years and to prevent a potential free fall. Great job to everyone supporting the Tesla boycott!

I still think this is the reason Trump is tanking the economy.

I cant decide what’s a worse look here: the elected leader of an EU member state & ICC signatory hosting an indicted ICC war criminal, OR the elected leader of the self-proclaimed Jewish state excusing his counterpart’s history of antisemitism & whitewashing Hungary’s role in the Holocaust?
