Just started my Foliosa shawl 🧶 After knitting so many projects in lovely wooly yarns, it’s taken me a bit to get used to this soft, slippery yarn. The yarn I got was listed as fingering weight, but when I input it into Ravelry it says lace. Interesting. Either way, it’s a fun knit so far 😊 #knitsky

I’m reminded of the LYS sign that someone shared a while ago. It said ‘Knitting keeps me from unraveling’ and I couldn’t agree more. Working on a shawl in hand dyed limited edition Briggs & Little Sport yarn 🧶 I love how the colours are highlighted uniquely by the different stitch patterns. #knitsky

I probably don’t need another shawl, but they’re a nice meditative project for me. I’ve just received 2 new yarns and am thinking I may knit these 2 shawls. I’m waiting on a vest pattern to be released in May, so this will tide me over until then 🧶 Details in alt text. What do you think #knitsky ?

I’ve finished knitting my Aal Ower Toorie 🧶 What a fun project!! Now to wash and block it. Some day I’d like to use this all over pattern and colour scheme in a vest. There are 2 vests I’d like to knit next…Gudrun Johnston’s upcoming May release, and Wilma Malcomson’s Seaweed Slipover. #knitsky

More knits that I gifted to knitworthy folks 🧶 It really is fun gifting knits to friends and family ❤️ #ShowMeYourKnits #knitsky

This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits prompt is GIFT knits. I’ve had fun knitting gifts for others including shawls, mittens, hats, baby sweaters and ornaments. It’s always a joy to make things for knitworthy folks. Here are a few of my gift knits 🧶 More info in alt text. #knitsky

This week’s #ShowMeYourKnits prompt is out 🧶 It’s GIFT knits 😊

While this might be a hat that I’m currently knitting (the Aal Ower Toorie, this year’s Shetland Wool Week hat), I think the pattern and these colours would also be super fun on a vest 😊 #knitsky 🧶

My Aal Ower Toorie is coming along 😊 It is so much fun painting with yarn 🧶 Knitting up this hat today as it rains off and on outside. It’s a nice balm on a dreary day. #knitsky

The sun was finally shining today after some dreary days, so I got myself outside to feel the sun on my face 😊 🧶 I’m wearing my Buggiflooer beanie, the 2023 Shetland Wool Week hat. I had fun coming up with my own colour scheme. It was my 1st complex (to me) stranded colourwork project. #knitsky

Swatching for the Shetland Wool Week hat (called the Aal Ower Toorie). I’m using colours that I have on hand, so they’re not exact but I’m happy with them being close enough 🧶 This should be a pretty quick knit. Now to wash and block my swatch and see what my gauge is. #knitsky #fairisle #colourwork

And we have foxes 🦊🦊 This sweet little sweater is coming along 😊 I’ll sew in their eyes with duplicate stitch once I’ve finished knitting the sweater. Knitting these wee foxes was no easy feat. I’ve never had to knit with three colours in one row and manage all their floats 🤪 Tedious work 🙃 #knitsky

#ShowMeYourKnits time 🧶 This week’s theme: grey. I scrolled through my Ravelry list of projects and realized that I’d never knit anything in grey until recently. I bought this lovely Briggs and Little yarn 🇨🇦 in Sheep’s grey. I knit a Hansel hap with it as MC, and then this Aestlight shawl. #knitsky

I’m stash busting to knit this 12-18mo sized baby sweater. Maybe not the exact colours I would have chosen, but the idea of using up yarns in my stash feels good 😊 I’ve just knit the row of fox noses. Can’t wait to see the rest of the wee foxes take shape 🧶🦊 #knitsky

Sat down to knit and this happened 🤷🏼‍♀️ There might be a slight delay 🙃 #knitsky 🧶
