I genuinely am shocked at the Trump and Zelensky meeting. Wtaf

Yes. WhatsApp is down for me too

Side note: Tears of the Kingdom is finally really growing on me as a game, about 22, 23 hours in

I decided to give Google Gemini more of a go and made a Gem to act as an aid for Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. Beyond very basic questions like "What are the purposes of the Korok Seeds", it is trash. Literally gave me incorrect information, sending me down the wrong trail

Lickitung is a strange pokemon, isn't it

Gemini prompting me to save personal information about myself so that the LLM can refer back to it. Except their privacy policy says not to put anything personal in the chat as humans have access to the chats. Why would I use this feature then?

I once again needed the phonetic alphabet on the phone and did not know it, leading to me embarrassing myself M is for Mike, not Maroon

Really struggling with Mythic Quest Season 3. It's cringe and feels very dated

Very excited with the machine learning updates in the Affinity suite. Genuine good use of ML and massively increases the speed of my workflow without taking away the skill

Binge watched season 4 of The Boys this weekend. I have 0 regrets. Easily the best season of the series

I'm about 20 hours into Zelda Breath of the Wild and I still have no idea what the hell I'm doing. I haven't even managed to complete any of the main missions

Can't lie, the Apple TV App on Android is really well made

LET'S FUCKING GOOOO

Obligatory fuck ticketmaster. Fully crashed at 9am. If I failed this much at peak times at work I'd be fired

The Samsung 'Daily Brief' summary is apparently going to be locked to S25? That is by far one of the most useless things on the One UI 7

Sad, presale all sold out

FFS, ticketmaster keeps crashing. I was in the queue to get Kendrick and SZA tickets on time. If Trump is going to ruin the world, can he at least force Ticketmaster to be competent

Google Gemini is god awful. I have the advanced version through my Samsung S25 Ultra. I asked it on Gmail to get my latest Samsung order number from my emails and it pulls out an email from years ago of my S23. What the hell? Why is Gemini so bad?

KENDRICK UK TOUR ANNOUNCED LETS GOOOOOOO

No one will be as having bad of a week as Drake. How do you recover from this

They try this every few years and typically I have confidence whatever company being asked of this won't comply, but with the way the world is going, I can't help but feel they will comply very soon

One UI 7 is awful at the moment. It feels unfinished and its a weird mix between Pixel and Apple. One UI 6 was much better and more polished

Super late to the game, I know. But WTF MAVS

Defo agree with this review. I don't have regrets getting the S25 Ultra (I also did not pay the full price for it) but everything called out here has merit. It is a marginally underwhelming phone, but that's more because the predecessors were genuinely that good

Transferring wearable devices between two phones is a nightmare. I always have to end up just resetting my wearable. But, got the S25 Ultra!

Initially I was annoyed that Severance was a once a week episode drop, but 3 weeks in I am learning to re-appreciate the slow drops. I want more content in slow drops. I genuinely look forward to Fridays for the weekly podcasts I listen to, and now on top of that, there's Severance

I really hope we go back to the old format for Champions League. This new format is weird and all the games feel so low stakes. There are so many games and I have minimal interest to watch them during the group stage and I'm more inclined to tune in during the knockout now

@davidpierce.xyz @reckless.bsky.social In the last tech survey in 2021, Sonos was used as the 'baseline' brand, the brand people don't have strong opinions on/generally like. I am going to assume that status has been lost by Sonos? Who will it be next? Sony? Logitech? Who could hate Logitech

@davidpierce.xyz @reckless.bsky.social outside of working programming things (like working out regex formulas 🤮) my main usage of AI is for holiday planning. I ask for a x number of day itinerary, then search travel sites/reddit for more details and nuanced info on the location of travel

I'm enjoying the raw feeling of Pixelfed. It's like THE OG Instagram where it's a mixture of really cool professional photos and then some unedited personal photos of something that a person liked

This is sad. I miss having physical retail stores - something I realised in Australia how much I missed it. I get that it's probably not viable given the location and how expensive it must be to have, but it's still a shame

I'm seeing so much commentary on how boring the new Samsung phones are going to be - that's fine? I have the S23 Ultra and am only upgrading as I hate the sharp edges it has and camera upgrades. Phone design has pretty much peaked. All those moaning are the ones that wouldn't buy the wacky designs

Apparently the PS6 is rumoured to release in 2027. This feels so soon - I feel like we have only really got to grips with this generation? I can only think of a few standout games from this gen so far. I don't want a new Xbox or PS5, give me more games

The TikTok ban, the Musk Twitter takeover, the Facebook moderation policy changes, the Republicans’ rapidly intensifying crackdowns on speech... let these be the proof you needed to move anything you care about online to a space you control. Digital sovereignty is more important than ever.

Instagram turning the square crop in profiles into rectangles cracks me up so much. What a way to say fuck you to the people that use your product who spent ages curating their Instagram portfolio to match your guidelines

lmao no, TikTok users are not moving to Bluesky. They would literally rather learn Mandarin than learn how to read a feed of text posts. This is a millennial retirement home.

This Newcastle - Bournemouth game is a bit of a banger, innit

The switch is genuinely a brilliant product, from a consumer and engineering perspective, so understand why there aren't drastic changes in the form factor. Why change what works. But...the logo? Come on man, have some fun with it #switch2
