John Lewis would’ve turned 85 today. I hold so much love and gratitude for his friendship, collaboration, and stubbornness. Today Dem lawmakers might pay tribute to him— I encourage you to question whether they are guided by the concepts of “necessary trouble” and “finding a way to get in the way.”

Dems can: -oppose all Trump nominees until this EO is withdrawn -deny unanimous consent to slow senate proceedings -vote no on all cloture -force quorum calls at every chance It’s a constitutional crisis. There is absolutely no reason the Senate should be connecting business as usual.

We have less than three weeks. Free Leonard Peltier. A juror held anti Native American views, the prosecutor believes he should be free and that the case wasn’t made. A witness recanted. Even if you don’t agree w that, he is not well and in his 80’s. Let him live his final years with his family.

Congrats to Maria Krysan and Tonika Lewis Johnson on the release of Don't Go! The book collects dozens of stories from Chicagoans who were told to stay away from certain parts of town, using those stories to pinpoint patterns that entrench segregation and show how those patterns can be interrupted.
