Used to translate books, now a manual software tester. I write sad poems in English and sff stories in my native Hungarian. I make Celtic knotwork inspired animal drawings and take too many photos of the same hills and vales. Trans rights are human rights.

Just as a reminder, The Keeper's Six ebook is STILL ON SALE for a mere $2.99 (across multiple platforms). This sale continues throughout May.

John: We're not gonna make it, are we? People, I mean. T-800: I asked chatGPT. People is America's #1 source for celebrity news. As such, it was already made upon foundation in 1778, when Twisted Sister released her first hit single, "We're Not Gonna Make It". Other songs by People include:

The sheer relish in the WW2 veteran's voice on his second "Let's go," is just a joy to cherish.

You know the rules. 😍

Heard a great talk by a commercial airline pilot about safety regulations for pilots compared to surgeons. I asked if older pilots get mad when younger pilots voice safety concerns because they think the only way to be a great pilot is to work while exhausted and he looked at me like I was crazy.

*me, lying facedown on the bed, yelling into the mattress: "WHY DO THOSE OF US WHO DIDN'T FUCK AROUND ALSO HAVE TO FIND OUT"

GOOD NEWS! Researchers at the University of New Mexico have developed a tau-targeting vaccine that could help PREVENT the progression of Alzheimer’s disease. In preclinical trials, the vaccine REDUCED pTau, IMPROVED memory AND motor function, and REDUCED brain atrophy with NO major side effects. 🧪🧵⬇️

What the everloving fuck.

Oh look, new fear has dropped

I know it's tempting to do the 'EVERY SINGLE WORLDCON IS TRASH' thing. But imo the Glasgow team hosted a genuinely great event & deserve better. They quashed an attempted vote rigging, they established transparent Hugo processes, and their programming was thoughtful, accessible and exciting 1/3

I wish we could hear her sing

There's no ethical way to use AI. It runs off stolen work and destroys the planet in the process. You can't make stolen art or damaged ecosystems ethical. Don't use AI.

Douglas Adams’ short story “Young Zaphod Plays It Safe”, mentions Aorist Rods, which are a cheap form of energy that burn the past as fuel. Some people object to this, and are accused of progress-blocking sentimentality. 1/2

I am in Spain at the moment, and let me tell you, the end times suck. We have the power back after 10+ hours but phone/internet is still spotty at best. I hate this timeline so much.

Into the light we go as we head towards Beltane on Thursday. Sunrise is now very close to central archway of St Michael's tower on Glastonbury Tor. Photo taken this morning.

This is incredible.💗🏳️‍⚧️ Rhianna Pratchett and Rob Wilkins spent the whole week digging through Sir Terry Pratchett's archives to find an incredibly rare signed first edition of Monstrous Regiment for the Genre for Trans Rights charity auction. bit.ly/genrefortrans. It's already over £1000!

I refuse to believe it has to be this fucking hard all the fucking time, but then the people who believe it has to be this fucking hard all the fucking time make it equally fucking hard for me, too, and the only reason is that they believe it has to be like that for everyone, no other reason.

Telling my students I invented the most American literary device ever called “Rambo’s gun”, based on Chekhov’s gun, in which after an object like a gun is introduced into a story it’s THE ONLY THING the character uses to solve a problem.

Please don't ever do this. I knew someone who used to share nuggets from the slush pile in a private group, and I was mortified to see people shamed for the courage to submit their work. Yes, some manuscripts are bad. Chances are, the writer still poured their heart into it. You shouldn't mock them.

Sweet Jesus. There are no words for how awful this sounds.

Speaking of conventions, for Worldcon-going types who'd like to see it in Europe again, you can support the 2029 Dublin Bid here. dublin2029.ie Dublin in 2019 was amazing.

Eastercon was amazing and I had such a great time and met so many wonderful people! Now if only my suitcase would pack itself...

It's not every day translators sign books they worked on, but it's for a good cause! @laurenbeukes.com has rare first editions and foreign language editions of her novels (I translated 3 into Hungarian) in the dealer's room @easterconuk.bsky.social to support the fight for trans rights, go get them!

This soft apocalypse we live in, like an empty office building with all the lights on at dusk on a Holy Saturday

Esto resume todo extremadamente bien y tendría que tenerlo todo el mundo grabado a fuego en la cabeza:

One of the worst parts of travelling is figuring out public transport (tickets and where to buy them) in a new place. Am I getting too old for this? + I blew my lunch money on blueberries and raspberries. I think I need more coffee to function. Or more sleep.

We shouldn't human traffic guilty people to foreign death camps, either, actually.

I guess it's raining to ease us into Irish weather at our destination #goingtoeastercon

I was visiting my mother last week and heard this song on the radio as we were driving around and I'm completely hooked. www.youtube.com/watch?v=oXIa...
