This week's episode was all about the 1967 film "Double Trouble" - frequently cited among the worst of Elvis's narrative feature films. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

it-was-ninety-years-ago-today.ghost.io/why-a-newsle... First of my new newsletter is up. This will hopefully be a weekly thing where I blather about stuff I used to talk about on my blog. This week -- Elvis' first album and Crisis on Infinite Earths #1

Our episode this week was about Elvis’s non-movie recording sessions in May 1963 & Jan. 1964 which, while giving us iconic recordings like “Devil in Disguise” and “It Hurts Me,” never resulted in an LP, instead being spread out over 5 years’ worth of releases. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

@ryandroste.bsky.social made a special appearance on Michael Riker’s YouTube channel this week to reflect on Aloha from Hawaii - fun discussion! youtu.be/d5rZcv4DpUY?...

News: I'm joining the team at Sports Illustrated as a writer! Big thanks to everyone who helped me w/ this opportunity. Covering the wrestling industry for an outlet like SI is something I never imagined possible when I started this journey. Thankful & excited! #WrestleSky #WWE #AEW

This week we're joined by author and historian Preston Lauterbach to discuss at length his new book "Before Elvis: The African-American Musicians Who Made the King" which is releasing January 7. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

On our final episode of 2024, Ryan and Bec take a listen to Elvis' 2nd album and ponder where this sophomore effort, recorded in early September 1956, stacks up to Elvis' iconic debut record. No Songs of the Week this week due to holiday schedules. Happy New Year! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Merry Clambake! Our big holiday "Clambake" episode for 2024 is officially out! Joined by EAP Society, Suddenly, Those Elvis Girls, We Say Yeah, Garrett Cash and Darin Evans, it's a wild exploration through not just the movie itself but also the year 1967 in film. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

🎶"Scott Heyward is coming... to town!" 🎶

John Michael Heath from @eapsociety.bsky.social joins the show this week to revisit the 2008 album "Christmas Duets," and try to figure out where the project, handled by clearly talented producers and musicians, may have gone awry.

My wife spotted this magazine in the racks at Walmart yesterday, with the article marking Elvis’ 90th birthday by looking at some of his “western” films. Ironically, the magazine still named “Cowboys & INDIANS” in 2024 left out “Stay Away Joe.” A bridge too far even for them. 🤠

Also, hey! It's this week's episode, digging into "A Date With Elvis" from 1959! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

We've had a few people send this to us already since the YouTube algorithm is working its magic on it so just wanted to let folks know this is out there and that we've seen it as well. Hanks doesn't have too much new to add to what he's previously said before... www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJWs...

Our special episode this week was all about the things we’re thankful for as Elvis fans! podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

The previews are looking fantastic for Lilo & Stitch and it’s so great to know Chris Sanders is back as the voice. But to quote the screaming fans of days gone by… “we want Elvis! We want Elvis!” youtu.be/m5fMyIImwEY?...

One of our highlight episodes of the year was our crossover with our friend John from the EAP Society to explore the history of Memphis’ music, how Elvis’ music was shaped by cultural, social and political happenings in the city - and how he in turn shaped Memphis’s music scene.
