Southwest Airlines' website (1995)

This is what AI and people working together looks like. But, per the discussion earlier this week, the people are experts in their fields

I generally think well of Mark Cuban. And I’m fairly bullish about LLM utility long term. But, I can’t square the circle of “learning how to ask AI models the right questions” and “zero education.” I mean, isn’t learning to ask smart questions *of anyone* the whole point of education?

This is one of my favorite accounts I’ve ever discovered on any network, a beautiful artifact of a bygone age of the internet that was human-driven yet algorithmically-enhanced. It’s nothing but obscure (but wonderful) music, curated by a dedicated Reddit community.

Poor Bing

At the risk of getting into political stuff, um, what?!? Do they think Ye's lying about being a Nazi? Because I'm pretty sure him selling that shirt answers the question.

Instances like this really make you wonder. Someone with authority said "this will work" and rolled with that ad. Just think about the chain of okays and cascade of bad ideas that led to those commercials.

Nike hasn’t aired a Super Bowl ad since 1998. For its return to the big game, the company is turning to the meteoric rise of women’s sports—particularly women’s basketball. #WNBA www.wsj.com/business/med...

How much have gamblers paid Mahomes to throw this game?

And it’s a terrible spot

#BlueCrew - Quote of the Day

Write new worlds. Write beautiful places. Write angry people. Write imaginary beasts, futile quests, broken hearts, lifelong injustices, mysteries, love affairs, lost children, newfound purpose. Write anything that allows you to escape or heal or vent or rage or explore or reconcile. Write 🖤

I never knew this. Hilarious

Toffler is notable for popularizing the phrase “information overload” … in 1970. Dude knew what he was about

This is a word of warning to all of us. Left, right, or anything else. Constantly reevaluating and learning.

You're gonna need a cat on your timeline, I think.

For me, writing IS thinking. Writing’s not how I make my living exactly; thinking is. But I often don’t know what I truly think until I can get my thoughts out of my head and hold them up to the light.

I’m not kidding: those who delegate all their writing, thinking and creative expression to machines are going to wake up one day and discover that they can no longer write or think. You need to make your own art. You need to keep your brain working. You need to stay human.

Here are the bestselling books of 1925 (in the US). The only book and author I personally recognize is "Arrowsmith" and Sinclair Lewis; the rest are merely Wikipedia entries at this point. All fame is fleeting. We are all dust in the wind.

Jaw dropping $8mm for 30s. if a brand wants to signal its value and create upper funnel demand/desire, live premium video is unmatched. Remarkably most of $200B+ spent on Google, Facebook, retail media is microtargeted lower funnel demand fulfillment. www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/bus...

So, look. I'm sure I'm in the minority here on Bluesky in believing that training AI systems isn't copyright infringement. But, also. Dude. There's no way OpenAI can make this argument without looking very, very silly.

I think this thread nails the problem with a lot of "obvious" use cases for AI agents. It is likely that we will not use those agents for those obvious use cases at scale for some time.

Elon Musk's anti-remote work crusade is so funny to me this is the guy with the vision for the future? he wants to go to Mars, why? so you can sit in an office cubicle from 9 to 5 but you're doing it on the Red Planet? lol

Kindness is a superpower.

David Lynch is part of a small fraternity of famous people (think Mr. Rogers, Bob Saget) who, when he dies, despite his enormous body of artistic & financial achievement, the very first thing everyone says is: he was so kind. What a good, kind man. Aspire to follow suit.

We live in the ✨ world of tomorrow ✨

Cui bono?

I used to think that the Facebook movie and the idea that Mark Zuckerberg really just wants a seat at the cool kids' table was an oversimplified, if entertaining fiction. Now I'm not so sure.
