How anyone defines "man" or "woman" may depend on whether they're - a lawyer - a geneticist - a psychiatrist - conservative politician - a person with a need for definitions. I was a biology teacher then a policy analyst. I have a BSc(Hons) in Genetics + have drafted laws, I say Too complex #NZpol

Excellent thread 👇. Also our word choice matters. When someone says a policy 'does not work'. That presupposes intent and an attempt for it to work. Framing it that way suggests that the policy makers' intent was what *you* want. Perhaps better to say, "from their perspective it did work."

Imagine if there had been a massive campaign for masks in airports + on flights by promoting "don't ruin your holiday by catching COVID". Such a simple idea. No-one wants to be ill on holiday. My sister goes on holiday tomorrow & I can't even suggest that she wears a mask without seeming 'extreme'
