Calling all teachers! 📚 Explore fresh ways to teach Blake, Wordsworth & Romanticism in our free online CPD on 11 March. Join our wonderful panel – Michael Donkor, Iain Sinclair, Helen Mort & Alexander Fairbairn-Dixon – for a lively discussion on radicalism, nature and more: bit.ly/BL-CPD-Roman...

In #mathstoday we looked at inflation. We looked at the inflation rate plotted and talked about the big spike that started in November 2021. We also had fun looking at the CPI basket. Did you know popcorn was recently removed from the basket?!

Great day of top quality maths communication at MathsFest 2025. @standupmaths.bsky.social hosting Katie Steckles, @mscroggs.co.uk, Jen Visser-Rogers, @jamesgrime.com @nicole-cozens.bsky.social and me. Thanks to everyone for coming to join in!

I really enjoyed this thoughtful and impactful discussion today - thank you @happymuseum.bsky.social for organising and the contributions from speakers #Museums #MuseumEd #GLAM-Ed

Nice to see some #maths #history turning up in the No Such Thing as a Fish podcast! pca.st/episode/f933... #mathstoday 🏛️🎓

Retopping this thread with a less gnomic opener: a fun thing about visiting a museum of the ancient world is thinking how we’d get things completely wrong if we were to dig up, say, a bus inside London and a bus in any other English city (usually with more tech, like a USB charger or w/e).

Interesting discussion in #MathsToday around the question - If you could represent any times tables fact as a shape, then what would it be?

Looking forward to hosting a @gem.org.uk webinar this afternoon for #LGBTHistoryMonth sharing case studies of museums working with LGBTQIA+ communities, still some tickets left: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/1142901652... #MuseumEd #GLAM-Ed

Oooh, a #maths mystery from history! 🕵️ Looks like a form of the Pigpen cipher but doesn't make sense of translated from the 'standard' setup & the double dots suggest some adaptation that I haven't seen before. I wonder if there's any context that we can't see that might help? #MathsToday 🏛️🎓

If you're not sure how to pronounce "parallelepiped" then this is the podcast episode for you. If you *are* sure how to pronounce "parallelepiped" then this is *definitely* the podcast episode for you. pca.st/episode/b305... #MathsToday

We loved exploring the new Roden Centre for Creative Learning at the National Gallery – an inspiring space for children, families & young people! 🎨✨Creative learning is so important for children's growth & self-expression – this centre makes it accessible for all. Congrats to everyone involved!

🏛️ #History happened here! Visit our #Colossus gallery to see the World Origin Site .org plaque marking our #Museum as the home of #Computing Stand in the footsteps of the WRENs who worked tirelessly to change the course of WWII, and experience the enormity of #ComputingHistory

A question for any teachers regarding new #MathsWeekScot resources: Would you rather a full ready-to-go lesson plan (with outline, PPT, teachers notes etc), or a series of self-contained activities you can choose from and slot in to your existing lesson plan? #EduSky #UKMathsChat #MathsToday

Hello, @romanpalace.bsky.social @themerl.bsky.social @longshop.bsky.social @maryrosemuseum.bsky.social Please could you all share with us your favourite #artefact from your collections? #history #heritage #museum #curator #showmeyours

We're looking for a graphic design company or individual who can help us reimagine the space outside our entrance doors to include interpretation boards and signage. Something fun and IRRESISTABLE ensuring every visit to the education centre is a visit to the museum. Please RT!

Hey folks. Sorry I've been a lot more sporadic recently, but hopefully once I'm at new job after Easter I'll have a bit more time to be active. For old time's sake, give me your favourite weird maths words! #MathsToday

The UK Disability History and Heritage Hub is now on Bluesky. Give us a follow!

I'm off sick today so I've planned and sent in cover work, uploaded 6th form lesson materials to Teams and marked an A-level test. This evening my main jobs are to put the test scores in a spreadsheet and plan more cover work so that I can take tomorrow off sick.

"Mathematics is the initial object in the category of learning" I've had this phrase in my head for a few days, so it's time to get it out and look at it to see if it still makes sense outside my head. #mathsky #ITeachMaths #UKMathsChat

The BSHM¹ RiP² event went really well today. We had some lovely comments about our presentation and there was an amazing variety of fascinating talks from other contributors! The addition of some research posters to read during lunch was a really good upgrade, and the increase in delegate […]

Any suggestions for books that would fit the bill? #MathsToday #ALevelMaths

Hello #museums! I have been working on a book chapter about museum learning for neurodivergent people (lifelong learning) for a little while. As part of this chapter, I am sharing some examples of good practice, and I would love to hear about any projects you think should be highlighted.
