This is on us. He told us during the campaign he was gonna purge the military, the DOJ, the FBI, and the intelligence community of people loyal to the law & the Constitution, and replace them with people loyal only to him. He told us he was gonna do this. And we still elected him. This is on us.

If there is a silver lining how this has gone down, it's that the Trump Tax Cuts were clearly structured with the assumption that he would be ending his second term in 2025 and what happens going forward would be someone else's problem. Now he has to reckon with the stupidity.
