“This is really about the algorithms and the way companies are manipulating people with those algorithms” – Maryland Del. @jaredssolomon talks w/NPR about his state’s trailblazing #KidsCode law

🚨Congressional Republicans are fast-tracking two bills to give Elon Musk the power to issue his own “stablecoin” that could compete w/ the U.S. dollar and control the future of money. This is brazen pay-to-play and self-dealing, and we're watching it play out in front of us.

Warning labels exist for: ✔️ Cigarettes ✔️ Alcohol ✔️ Toys ✔️ Blankets ✔️ Window shades ❌ Social media

The latest horrifying lack of oversight from Meta: Gruesome violence, animal abuse, murders, dead bodies, and other gore have been showing up in reels across Instagram for users. The response? They “apologize for the mistake” 🙄

Big Tech has too much power over our everyday lives – the information we receive, what we buy, and how we communicate with one another. Antitrust enforcement is bipartisan because it's one of the only checks we have on Big Tech's abuses and corrupt influence on Washington.

Yesterday’s Senate Judiciary hearing on kids' digital safety was a promising start from legislators, but Congress needs to produce results. Remember the holdup? Speaker Johnson wouldn’t bring KOSA to the House floor in 2024 despite overwhelming bipartisan calls for a vote.
