As I'm certain Wes Streeting is aware, a diagnosis of a mental illness is not sufficient to be awarded PIP. You have to explain in detail how your conditions prevent you from tasks like washing, toileting, and eating, and then usually have an assessment via video or in person.

Starmer has said that we're spending more on the benefits system than on prisons - inexplicably, he believes this is a bad thing. Many crimes are born of poverty - if you can improve the lives of the unemployed and disabled so that we don't have to turn to a life of crime, we could spend even less.

Cutting foreign aid is an extremely short-sighted move by a UK government obsessed with reducing migration. Foreign aid isn't given simply to be nice - supporting stability and living standards abroad reduces the need for people to take difficult journeys away from their homes.
