The First Amendment 1789 -2025

The coolest thing I’ve seen today is that a bunch of volunteer public health professionals and developers have restored the CDC website from before January 20th 2025. This differs from an archive in that they want to rebuild the links between pages and replicate the full website.

“Incredible as he is inept Whenever the history books are kept They'll call him the phony king” Now give me a hot fox Robin Hood.

After we let Russia occupy part of your country and steal your resources, we will occupy the other part and do the same. Quite the starting point for the Americans.

Question: what about the access they had over the last week? I’m not a tech person, at all, but if they’ve downloaded spyware (not sure this is the correct term, again not a tech person) or some other way of getting into the system, what’s to stop them now?

Make sure @johnfetterman.com gets the memo since his offices too the phones off their hooks.

It’s why I stopped donating

My new piece for @themeteor.bsky.social‬⁩: “Unlike the manosphere, which thrives online by feeding anger and fear, I’m advocating for real, face-to-face relationships that foster compassion and collaboration. The womansphere won’t just build ideas, but bonds.”

Yes, this administration is dangerous and cruel, but they are also shockingly dim and incompetent. Opportunities are everywhere. Make everything as hard as possible. Resist every demand. Refuse entry without a warrant. Don’t take the buyout. Their problem solving skills are 📉

I’m not an expert, but I’ve read enough to understand that the Great Depression 1) Started with a financial crisis (removal of FDIC protections) 2) included an agricultural crisis (migrant deportations) 3) broadbased tariffs resulted in mass unemployment and high inflation.

I'm not teaching my grad course 'Civil Resistance: How It Works' this semester. But here is an abridged version of the course schedule, readings, and films I used the last time I taught it (in 2022). Just in case it's useful. drive.google.com/file/d/14RRJ...

I pray this helps some of you today. We have a duty to Dr. King whose life was taken because he dared demand that this country face itself, to demonstrate that his work & sacrifice was not in vain. Let’s do it together. Please share. And subscribe. open.substack.com/pub/sherrily...

House staff trying to raise the flags to full staff for the inauguration are struggling. The cords are frozen.

No TikTok; can’t take Facebook anymore; never really into Insta. Libby and local library is where I’m at! And here…

I think some of these poll results are further evidence that many Americans are fucking clueless

It’s a perfect night for some comfort food. Feeling lazy so opted for biscuits (canned) vs normal cornbread.

One more reason I’m glad I cancelled my Prime and am now making a concerted effort to shop local.

Amazon has denied a leave of absence to an Alabama woman who was struck by the New Orleans attacker’s truck and shot in the foot during the attack. She worried she won’t have a job to return to when she recovers. www.nola.com/news/crime_p...

Two of several reasons why I canceled my Prime when it was up for renewal.
