I run our school's externship program, and for years I have recommended careers in the federal government to students, regardless of who was in the White House. Stable, portable skills, good benefits, etc. Who would give (or take) that kind of advice after the last month?

Could not love this piece more, as it’s clearly written by a fellow LHOTP devotee. If this wholesome story — that I grew up on and was so mothered by that I traveled to Minnesota to see the willow trees Pa planted for Ma — is controversial, we’re in real trouble. Beautifully written, Jason. 💔

Democrat town hall in Kentucky at capacity tomorrow! 💪🏼🇺🇸

As Kara Swisher notes: Elon isn’t doing DOGE for free nor to cut government costs. He’s doing it to get access to all of the data of all Americans, which he can then use to make more money. podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/t...

Y’all know I hate it when David Brooks is right, but David Brooks is right on every single point here, including F Scott Fitzgerald: rich people are careless, they break things. youtu.be/WE8JGCNJYmA?...

In the depths of the Nebraskan winter, 2400 people came out to listen to Bernie Sanders in Omaha last night. 800 had to be turned away at the door. Over 190,000 tuned into the livestream. There is a movement to be harnessed here. @sanders.senate.gov (📸 Anna Bahr)

That the president speaks publicly to a governor like this would send shockwaves in any other administration. Anyone who publicly kowtows to him — hello Andy Barr, Nate Morris, Daniel Cameron — can’t be trusted to represent their constituents.

Business 101: Firing 100s of random workers does not cut costs or curb bureaucracy. All they’re doing is creating chaos which increases bureaucracy and, in turn, costs.

The only person regularly defaming the FBI is the president, so how’s that gonna work?

When was the last time Rep. Andy Barr had a real town hall meeting in Lexington to hear from constituents? www.washingtonpost.com/politics/202...

Where are the pro-life conservatives?

Just paid $12.49 for the fancy eggs at Kroger in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky and had to listen to the elderly male clerk at checkout tell me how the president is “working on the big stuff first” and it took all I had ….

February 21 On this day 8 yrs ago, Senator Mitch McConnell held a protested, ticketed town hall in Lawrenceburg, KY. 5 yrs ago today, we celebrated what would sadly be KY hall of famer Ed McClanahan’s last book launch. 3 yrs ago today I met my birth father for the 1st and last time.

i think it is cool that de facto first consul of the united states is a drug-addled maniac and deadbeat dad with a breeding fetish

My dogs are all rescues but I am suddenly barraged by ads for King Charles spaniel breeders, and I mean, they are super cute but this house is full up look at these faces!

gravedigger of american democracy. a more malign influence than john c calhoun.

From corrupting politics with special interest money to rigging the Supreme Court and enabling a criminal president's re-election, nobody has done more to destroy American democracy than Mitch McConnell.

Read this Andy Barr statement and weep for whatever went sideways for Barr who stands for nothing but subservience to a president who disgraces the office and this country on a daily basis. Andy Barr is an empty suit, as is Daniel Cameron whose only qualification is his proximity to McConnell.

I always thought the Trojans were kind of dumb when they saw a big wooden horse outside the gates of Troy and thought it was a good idea to bring it in. The USA is a real life example of welcoming a Trojan Horse.

This is alarming.

This is a new level of madness. I don't know how it can be stopped
