Nutmeg was believed to prevent the bubonic plague in the 1400s. Indonesia was the only source of nutmeg and imports were unprecedented. Unfortunately the ships of the spice trade also imported rats which carried the fleas that spread the plague. Anyway, in 4 weeks Donald Trump will be president.
