Fun bit of pond dipping today - tadpoles aplenty and even this wolf spider carrying her egg sack - when the eggs hatch the hatchlings are carried on her back - one of the few examples of arachnid maternal care 🕷️

This ends well don’t worry - this morning a passer by helped me save this poor Robin that had been caught in plastic netting. 🥺 After a fair bit of snipping (with electric trimmers!) we got the last snags off and it flew happily to the nearest tree. #birds #wildlife
