Congressional seats are allocated based on population. Only 435 seats so adding Canada would require a reallocation with one seat for 800K people So about 50 seats to Canada. Again leading to a democratic majority in congress as 2/3 of Canadians are progressive. Trump had better rethink his plan.

Canada is a large country with ten provinces and three territories. If we were to join the USA we would expect to be 11 states. That is 22 new senators and say 44 congress seats. About 2/3 would be Democrat leaning. This would definitely push the USA towards a Democrat government. Does Trump know?
