Spreading #non-native species and human migrations. Superficially similar, but vastly different. We carefully distilled both processes and provide frameworks to support the development of context-specific policies that respect human dignity, and foster cultural diversity. πŸ‘‰ doi.org/10.1111/brv....

Happy to contribute to this publication, led by Danish Ahmed & Phillip Haubrock, with many coauthors incl. @alebortolus.bsky.social l @oldenfish.bsky.social @canobarbacil.bsky.social il.bsky.social @martin-nunez.bsky.social @jan-honza-pergl.bsky.social @franzessl1.bsky.social doi.org/10.1111/brv....

it is out ⚠️ it is Open Access πŸ₯³ it took great international and interdisciplinary collaboration Go for it and let me know what you think Link: πŸ‘‡ onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/...

What are biological invasions and why are they (very) important? πŸ‘‡ www.youtube.com/watch?v=cIJK... @rosscuthbert.bsky.social

This is a deep self-reflection on invasion science. Wonderfully thought provoking and honest. No short cuts. Every field shld consider doing this. We need more! academic.oup.com/bioscience/a...

#crayfish friends - are you sitting on primary data on crayfish populations? we are looking for partners in a global trait gathering programme. Currently have 50+ contributors from a full global spread but looking for more! Please dm me or email me [email protected] Please share!!

The #GuardIAS journey is off to a fantastic start! πŸš€ After 4 productive days with our incredible project partners & the amazing @onestopproject.bsky.social team, we're energized for the road ahead. Stay tuned for impactful outcomes! πŸŒπŸ’‘ #GuardIASOnestopKickoff #bioinvasions #InvasiveSpecies

Super proud to have contributed to this freshly published paper in #BioScience about some critical conceptual and ethical considerations in #bioinvasion science πŸ‘½πŸΈ

@inbo.be Teun Everts showcasing three aquatic invaders in Flanders for which the @guardias.bsky.social project will trial and test management interventions. From theory to practice!

@inbo.be Rein Brys outlining how eDNA can be leveraged for early detection and monitoring of biological invasions within the scope of the @guardias.bsky.social project πŸ πŸ‘πŸ¦πŸ¦žπŸ¦€πŸ¦‘πŸ™πŸͺΌπŸ¦‚πŸ•·οΈ

The #GuardiasOnestopKickoff has officially started❕ We look forward to 4 days of planning how we can together (@guardias.bsky.social) tackle #InvasiveSpecies across terrestrial, marine & freshwater realms

And we r off for two very exciting #invasivespecies #horizoneurope projects @guardias.bsky.social @onestopproject.bsky.social @skatsanevakis.bsky.social looking forward to work w many new & familiar colleagues

Mars samples that could conceivably contain life are scheduled to be delivered to Earth in the next decade, posing novel biosecurity risks. Invasion science may provide some insight into these risks. #bioinvasions #astrobiology academic.oup.com/bioscience/a...

Excited to work on the #eDNA related part of this ambitious #horizon project on aquatic #bioinvasions as my first post doc! πŸ‘½

Getting rudely rejected based on 1 reviewer being "overly negative and opinionated" (Editor's words), who forgot to hide his identity in an annotated PDF, allowing me to discover this person writing a blog post a few days earlier about the importance of a constructieve attitude during peer review πŸ™ˆπŸ™‰

Follow our project @guardias.bsky.social In the next three years, we'll be developing new cool 😎technology to support the prevention, control and management of #bioinvasions πŸ¦€πŸŒΏπŸ’πŸΈin Europe's continental and marine waters 🌊🌊🌊

Out now @NatureEcoEvo: our review on how #invasive #species drive #cross-#ecosystem effects #worldwide. Invasive species have globally profound impacts. These extend beyond ecosystem invaded, e.g. by altering flow of materials across the boundaries. Free article link here: rdcu.be/dBJS5
