If you need proof that Pixar is still committed to making originals and isn't gonna make sequel after sequel, Pete Docter revealed they are gonna alternate between having an original come out after a sequel rather than sequel after sequel. That's a healthy way to run the studio.

Pixar didn't "fall off". They got majorly screwed over by the pandemic (people still don't want to acknowledge how badly the film/TV industry was impacted by that for some reason) and the other issue is that Disney doesn't seem to want to market their original movies.
