Restorative justice focuses on rehabilitation and personal accountability to individuals a person has wronged. Translated into school settings, RJ can be used as an alternative to punishing students who have caused harm to their classrooms or fellow peers. truthout.org/articles/mom...

Trump's move to unilaterally establish the country's "official language" is dubious, at best, under his Article II powers/limits of the Constitution. truthout.org/articles/tru...

here’s the thing: why wouldn’t you treat every dumbass idea as potentially worthwhile when a month later you can just go “oopsies” and no one holds you accountable for giving credence to stupid shit?

So Musk’s people, who misread $8 million as $8 billion, who counted the same contracts multiple times and counted as savings programs that ended last year, claim that their AI is finding lots of Social Security fraud. Why should anyone worry?

Republicans are moving their town hall events online, where they can pre-select questions — and many are backing away from these events altogether.

ANCHOVY OR MEATLOVERS??

Everyone knows what happened here. Trump can only exist around people he can causally humiliate. Guys lie JD and Rubio. He wanted to do a ritual humiliation of Zelensky and Ukraine but Zelensky wouldn’t accept that and so Trump reacted like a stung bitch.

Donald Trump and J.D. Vance just exposed themselves as modern day Neville Chaimberlains.

Extending the Trump tax cuts for the wealthy from 2017 would increase the U.S. debt by $4.6 trillion. Republicans are planning to change budget calculations to claim they won't cost a penny. truthout.org/articles/rep...

Confronted on this claim to prove its validity, Johnson retorted with a snide remark -- and zero evidence of any kind. truthout.org/articles/mik...

It's also the first childhood measles death in the U.S. since 2003.

Republicans have good reason to be nervous about cutting Medicaid to pay for tax cuts. Analysis by @epi.org finds that cutting Medicaid by $880 billion would dig deep into the pockets of low-income families while boosting incomes for the 1% by 3.9 percent. truthout.org/articles/hou...

Elon Musk's "DOGE" has made major changes/firings at departments and agencies that oversee his companies. Those actions flout long-established rules regarding his "special government employee" designation. truthout.org/articles/nea...

One thing to keep in mind as the Trump administration moves to downsize government: The size of an agency's staff often isn't set by law. But there's a very long list of things agencies are required by law to do, and cutting the workforce doesn't make those obligations go away.

Three men forcibly removed the woman without identifying who they were -- whether they were with the sheriff's department or a private security firm, or neither. truthout.org/articles/ida...

Eggs, coffee, steak, and sugar are all officially at their highest price ever. Good thing Americans don't like any of those things!

A new poll indicates that 62% of Americans are particularly upset with Trump’s failure so far to lower the costs of consumer goods — a key promise during his 2024 campaign.

Trump is placing political conditions on wildfire aid. He is not a president for all.

Probably because he *isn't* doing anything, despite his promises on the 2024 campaign trail. truthout.org/articles/pol...

After stopping New York City from carrying out a previously approved congestion pricing program, Donald Trump bragged about the outcome on social media, calling himself a “king” on official White House social media.

The Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals has rejected an "emergency" request by the Trump White House to lift a lower court's order blocking his attempts at redefining the 14th Amendment. truthout.org/articles/cir...

Trump: "I am going to behead a pronoun-user on live TV" NYT: "Displaying a fondness for showmanship, Trump's decapitation antics raise eyebrows in Washington"

Ok, but real talk? The sort of low-engagement persuadable Trump voter you need to flip is not going to sit through a serious policy argument, and would not understand it if they did. “He’s calling himself a king” they can understand. So run with it.

Folks, the White House shared THIS image. The official White House page is referring to Trump as a king.

I just… cannot.

J.D. Vance met with German AfD co-chair Alice Weidel, a political leader in that party who has downplayed the significance of the Holocaust and whose party has been described by many as a neo-Nazi organization.

Put aside the nastiness of this post, & the way in he attacks Zelenskyy as a dictator but says not a word about his pal Putin, & just focus on the way it is written: would you hire this weird person to work for you? Would you trust this odd person to teach your kid in school?

Trump promised several times on the campaign trail that grocery costs would go down when he took office. He's now playing the blame game, reneging on his pledge, and saying it's no longer the easy task he once said it was. truthout.org/articles/ret...

Conservatives have it wrong -- a bigger government isn't as much of a threat as a smaller one. Because "big government" means there are more barriers, more hoops for a dangerous lawmaker to go through; smaller government is more efficient, making it easier for that danger to enact a menacing agenda.

Marjorie Taylor Greene said presidents control the weather. So why isn't she asking why Trump hates the Midwest? 🤔

The "you can't erase history crowd" sure is silent about NPS erasing the trans history this week...

- The DOGE website was easily hackable -- at least 2 people altered its main page - The site includes false claims of "fraud" - Reminder: Musk's DOGE staff includes at least 3 members who made racist posts, advocated violence against women, and advanced white nationalism truthout.org/articles/dog...

The latest brag by Elon Musk/"DOGE" -- canceling payments relating to an examination of equity disparities within HHS's Administration for Children and Families. That's...not fraud, nor is it an inefficient use of government spending.

Musk complaining about our actual democracy by calling it undemocratic tells you all you need to know...

Danielle Sassoon, the interim U.S. Attorney for SDNY -- chosen weeks ago by Trump himself -- resigned from her post, calling the demand from Trump's DOJ an improper "quid pro quo" inconsistent with her office's work. truthout.org/articles/pro...

This is an incredible injustice.

Kennedy was asked during his confirmation if he would accept the fact that vaccines don't cause autism. He said he would, if such a study could be shown to him. Multiple studies HAVE been published disproving his conspiracy theories, meaning he chose not to read them. truthout.org/articles/sen...
