Finishing the #AlphabetTitleChallenge with an absolute banger. Zealot by Reza Aslan is an easy-to-read & well-researched narrative of the historical Jesus. It’s fascinating not only because of Jesus, but also because of his contemporaries. 1st C BCE was truly a world-changing moment 📚🖋️📚💙📚

#AlphabetTitleChallenge 📚🖋️📚💙📚 If you follow me you’re prbly sick of me raving abt how much I LOVE this book. But it’s SO GOOD. Postmodern story of Spanish conquistadores in Moctezuma’s empire. I❤️it so much I immediately got the audiobook, and the reader is fantastic. READ IT-you won’t regret it!

Failing the #AlphabetTitleChallenge again today. I don’t think I’ve ever read a book that starts with “X.” Watcha got #booksky ? 📚🖋️📚💙📚

Nearing the end of the #AlphabetTitleChallenge White Teeth by Zadie Smith is complex & thrilling. It’s a coming-of-age novel as well as a growing middle-aged novel. It’s smart & funny and worth a read AND a re-read

📚🖋️📚💙 #AlphabetTitleChallenge A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan offers a tantalizing world full of possibilities…but failure is among them, and time passes. I just read it again recently before reading The Candy House, a (kind of) sequel. Still rocks 🔥

The only nonfiction pick in my #AlphabetTitleChallenge Under the Banner of Heaven by John Krakauer reads like a novel. A murder thriller is interwoven with a fascinating exploration of the LDS church. It’s 25 years old, but it’s still relevant, gritty & fascinating 📚💙📚🖋️📚

A bit unconventional for today’s #AlphabetTitleChallenge The Throwback Special by Chris Bachelder has no main character & not much of a plot. It’s a total “guy” book. In fact, I think the conflict is … being a guy? It’s utterly charming & includes amazing, perfect metaphors.

Today’s #AlphabetTitleChallenge was a tough choice but I’m going with Sing, Unburied, Sing by Jesmyn Ward. Every single word, image, moment, EVERYTHING is precise & exactly right. Beautiful and heartbreaking.

#AlphabetTitleChallenge 💙📚🖋️ Tess Gunty’s first novel won the Nat’l Book Award. It’s SO GOOD. As w/all the best books, Gunty treats her flawed characters w/exactly the right combination of surprise, disdain, empathy & generosity. The end leaves me thinking that cynicism is lazy. We can do better.

Ok #booksky I have failed to come up with a Q for the #AlphabetTitleChallenge. What am I missing? There must be some Queens out there? or some Quicks or Quivers? Maybe a Quaker or a Question? What are your favorite Q titles? 📚🖋️📚💙📚
