One of the few little joys that I have had over the last few months has been to watch the marketing campaign for Marvel’s Thunderbolts movie roll out. With the exception of DP&W, I’d started to feel that the MCU had forgotten how to tell interesting stories. This looks like a delight. #movies

I’ve always had a philosophy that grounded optimism is critical to a healthy mind. At any conventional time, if you don’t believe that there is even the slightest chance of success, you wouldn’t try anything and so everything becomes impossible. We need to rediscover that thing that gives us hope.

A couple of years ago, I wrote a story about the world order facing environmental and economic collapse around 2050, and a realignment into many smaller blocs. At the time it seemed that it was a timeframe that felt unsettlingly close yet still somewhat plausible… How quickly things change…

It’s funny, I joined BlueSky with the hope to be creative, positive and insightful… but right now it’s feeling really difficult to find words that aren’t a primal scream of anguish at the direction that the world is heading. How do you handle this? Any suggestions would be very welcome! 😂

Unashamed neurodiversity thread incoming… So, the last eighteen months have been some of the hardest in my life. They have been painful and rewarding, exhausting and liberating. Soul-crushing and yet somehow also therapeutic. I wouldn’t wish this journey on anyone but now that I am here, I am glad.

Over the last few weeks, we have seen displays of unfettered cruelty. Cruelty isn’t power. It’s a primal display of weakness and ignorance. Kindness and empathy are intelligence. We must never forget that.

“Mundus sine caesaribus.” Honestly, this should be a message that anyone who isn’t worth nine figures should be able to get behind. Thanks @jay.bsky.team …

at sxsw, @jay.bsky.team pokes fun at mark zuckerberg by mimicking a version of a t-shirt he designed for himself, which said "aut zuck aut nihil" (either zuck or nothing, like "aut caesar aut nihil"). jay's shirt? "mundus sine caesaribus" (a world without caesars). techcrunch.com/2025/03/10/a...

Hi Folks, a quick PSA! if you are here for my commentary on business analysis and cybersecurity, please could you follow me @cyberba.bsky.social instead. Going forwards, I shall be using @thatguyfromuk.bsky.social more for occasional random musings on personal interests and trivia. Thanks!

This last year has been one of the strangest and most intense experiences of my life. It started last Sept. when I turned up to a BA conference to talk about cybersecurity and it seems that somehow that experience fried the imposter syndrome chip in my brain that had been holding me back.
