As an autistic mentally-ill shut-in who started blogging 30 years ago, the net was a literal lifeline for me. Back then like-minded souls found each other organically, but now it feels we have to do so perfomatively to be heard above the algorithms, and autism & performativeness don't mix well.

I ran the first web forum for fellow male survivors of sexual abuse. I've spoken to hundreds of men who survived abuse by Catholic priests, & in many cases had their lives devastated by speaking out. When they can all forgive the Church, I will too. Until then, I'm with Sinead O'Connor on this.

This could get ME killed. Medicaid pays for the several meds on which my physical & mental health completely depend; a temporary loss of them while switching doctors brought me in extreme agony to the brink of death 5 years ago. If I lose my meds, I'm done for — & my death will be on T*p's hands.
