Full of key info, the new SEND toolkit for governors and trustees is free to access for a limited time Great to work with NGA on this important advice: https://buff.ly/4hoIeSy @ngauk.bsky.social #VisibleGovernance #Inclusion

I'm excited to be part of this. The intersection of EdTech and income access is crucial. If tech isn't accessible to all, we risk widening existing inequalities and creating new ones. Tech should bridge divides, not reinforce them. #EdTech #DfE #DigitalDivide www.tes.com/magazine/new...

Today we’re publishing our Raising The Nation Play Commission interim report. Thanks to the many people who have contributed evidence and given advice. We set out the huge benefits of play, the barriers, and make policy recommendations. www.centreforyounglives.org.uk/news-centre/...

Delighted to see Dr Laura Bainbridge feature in today's BBC News article on child exploitation and cuckooing. Well done 👏 www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

A must-read from one of the most sensible, nuanced and compassionate leaders in the system. Certain figures could take a leaf from his book when it comes to the rhetoric around school attendance.

"Poor attendance is rarely the problem… it’s the symptom." Lots of food for thought here.

I'm feeling quite relaxed about the #JamesBond news As a lifelong Bond fan I'm maintaining optimism. Here's to a new chapter @AmazonMGMStudio let's see new stories told (just don't kill him this time!) #NoTimeToMoan #TomorrowNeverDies #LicenseToEntertain

Attendance is back in national headlines and tabloids this week. Here's my more 'personal' reflection on hardship, attendance and working families. thatpovertyguy.substack.com/p/mud-sweat-... #Attendance #School #Absence #Ofsted #Shoes #Slippers #Inequality #ThatPovertyGuy

#Education & #teaching is more research-informed than ever before. But engaging with credible evidence & #research is not easy in an increasingly complex sector. @thatpovertyguy.bsky.social explores how schools can make research more accessible for #teachers https://buff.ly/3Cz2stx #schools

Absolutely brilliant news @lindsaygrahamuk.bsky.social and well deserved…congrats from all of the team at Rethink Food! #foodconnections #healthypeoplehealthyplanet

Rising employment has helped to reduce the share of income poorer households get from social security benefits. Across the bottom fifth of the income distribution, this has fallen from 59 per cent in 1994-95 to 46 per cent in 2010-11, and 33 per cent in 2022-23.

The graduated approach to #SEND helps #teachers to meet the needs of SEND students through the assess, plan, do, review cycle. Sara Alston – @seainclusion.bsky.social – looks at how #schools #SENCOs & #teaching staff can deliver this approach effectively https://buff.ly/42JbfUz #SendTips

Great day with great edu leaders in Newcastle including a valentine’s coffee ❤️ with the inspirational @thatpovertyguy.bsky.social - as ever, it’s one of my absolute favourite places to be. 👍 Also learnt a new geordie phrase too on a bib! 😂

The dots are not difficult to join. Gove is editor of Spectator & in the space of 2 weeks, outlandish double attack from favourite Head, attack from favourite former CEO, NSN recreates itself as campaign group to oppose school reform, Toby Young enters Lords. Debate is good & so is transparency.

🗣️ "It would benefit probably about 1 million additional children." We're calling on the Government to expand free school meals eligibility so that it covers all families who receive universal credit. More from @beckymontacute.bsky.social on the costings of this policy ⬇️

Where can I find research/reading/best practice on designing and delivering inclusive PD - especially on meeting need of staff with SEND? #UKEd

Great to see our ‘Flourishing Teacher Programme’ taking shape - all ready to pilot in Autumn 2025. If you’re a school or trust leader who knows there must be a better way…get in touch. 🌱 🌳

Me on briefings, black boxes and buried inequalities. I don’t make a point of referencing Donald Trump in blogs, but that press conference last week got me thinking. thatpovertyguy.substack.com/p/assessment-n… #Poverty #Inequality #Assumption #PovertyProofing #TPADIS #TKAT #TVEd

Research shouldn't be something exclusive to those organisations that brand themselves as research schools. It also shouldn't only be something carried out by those with the time and expertise to do it. Curiosity can also be cost free #Research #Curiosity #ReadMoreBelow
