One last thing - yesterday I went to an Austin Film Society screening of a movie I had never heard of called Pretty Vacant, released in 1996 and set in my home town of San Antonio. It was a very warm, fun short film. letterboxd.com/film/pretty-...

In better news: lightintheattic.net/collections/... I've long listened to a barely-decent rip of this on YouTube and am looking forward to having a vinyl copy.

many people are discussing Laura Loomer's ties to white nationalism but we also must address her commitment to ensuring she maintains a "healthy skin and coat" through her enjoyment of dog food. www.the-independent.com/news/world/a...

snapshots from Austin (one mental) - saw a boomerish guy while I was walking to my car. He was wearing a COTA t-shirt and just asked me 'which way is downtown.' I pointed in the correct direction. Then saw this sign driving around:

A new publication from glorious Austin, so proud to be included thank you @the-infamous-goose.bsky.social!

Ever since I quit writing for the Austinist and then watching that website's inglorious end, I've imagined starting a new publication but run in a much more collaborative fashion. I think @flaminghydra.com is such a wonderful example of how we want to do it.

Wanna read my @flaminghydra.com essay about Harvard, fascism, and Pink Floyd's "The Wall" -- but without a PAYwall keeping you from it? You're in luck -- it's now free to read for everyone! I'd be honored if you shared it around!!

sorry to be vague but I feel like the existence of this product means we're at the start or end of something significant

amazingly irritating

Read this last night until I really had to put it down and go to bed. Highly recommended, and looking forward to resuming.

My dear friend @hannahgais.bsky.social is far too smart to be reading Jack Posobiec books but she did it anyway. The end result is this total evisceration of his "eerie" empty head for the @thebaffler.com: Please read: thebaffler.com/latest/unhum...
