They won’t fire Hegseth unless and until they can find someone equally suited to the project of destroying American institutions and endangering American lives.

This but for the general election and the debates

Looking through a collection of WWII posters, we definitely need to start repurposing some of these for the fight against fascism. Minus the racist ones, of course. But victory gardens? Scrap and recycling? Eating square meals? OPSEC? Encouraging women in the workplace? Anti-Nazi? FIRE!

They absolutely cranked out posters about operational security in WWII because they cared about soldiers. #petehegseth

WWII poster explaining the importance of operational security. #petehegseth

WWII poster about operational security. A sad puppy mourns a US sailor who never returned from war. #petehegseth

Another WWII poster explaining the importance of operational security. #petehegseth

I can keep these coming. How many WWII posters can I find that illustrate how badly #petehegseth has messed up? Operational security

Another great WWII poster explaining the importance of operational security. Do not discuss troop movement and war plans. #petehegseth

WWII poster explaining the importance of operational security. Don't discuss war plans or troop movements! #petehegseth

My veteran sister wasn't even allowed to tell us where her boat was traveling to when she was in the Navy b/c she could face disciplinary action, even though the boat had its own Facebook page that often said where it was going. OPSEC IS IMPORTANT.

holding pete hegseth upside down by the ankle and shaking him a little until every last secret war chat falls out onto the floor

Pete Hegseth is a f#cking a-hole, & a traitor to the United States of America American military aviators may die, shot down, or become prisoners due to his actions www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/u...

Stop calling it deporting, so MAYBE more Americans will get it. "Deporting" is sending someone back, after due process, to the country they came from, where they arrive a free person. This is human trafficking to a foreign torture prison for the rest of their lives. GET THE LANGUAGE RIGHT.

Due process is something we all need to be upset about. Everyone deserves a fair trial.

Being brave against tyranny is how we overcome. Do not comply in advance. He has buckled under pressure in so many cases. They are weak. Every time we fail to fight back, they are testing to see if they can push further. Do not move an inch. #resist #fightfascism

Sorry to get political but I think we should pay people to check for poop in our food

Are you a part of the military or National Defense Fund being asked to violate civil liberties? Get in contact with the GI Rights Hotline (linked) or contact your local state or federal rep. Your oath is to the Constitution: defend the Constitution. www.protectourdefenders.com/services/gi-...

At this rate MAGA will only be able to afford to rent the libs.

[it's hip to be square voice] it's fine to be cringe

This is an obvious point, but cannot overstated. There is an enormous difference between deporting someone - where they get off a plane as a free citizen in their home country AND FUNNELING THEM INTO A BRUTAL PRISON FROM WHICH THEY HAVE NO CHANCE OF EVER EMERGING!!!

"The letter 'was signed by three federal officials, placed on official letterhead, was sent from the email inbox of a senior federal official and was sent on April 11 as promised,' Harvard said in a statement on Friday." LOL OKAY SO TRUMP WON'T ADMIT THEY ARE LOSING.

Printer ink is, by weight, the most valuable liquid on earth. What the hell are they making it out of???

1/2: We have reason to believe that events on 4/19 and/or the 50501 Movement may be misrepresented by the Trump admin in an attempt to justify the use of military force. Let us be clear: our movement is pro-democracy and firmly grounded in non-violence.

Weather is getting nice, what if 10 million people went outside at the same time

Protesting alternative: start volunteering! Which non-profits and organizations need volunteers? Which are probably hurting the most right now? What skills do you have to offer? Get creative! Build community where you are, make friends, and feel good! #resist #fightfascism #dismantlecapitalism

Utah may not be known for peaches, but plant scientist Reagan Wytsalucy is working to revive the historic Southwest peach—cultivated by Native communities since the 1600s—by tracking down the remaining trees scattered across the region.

so i've been honing my approach and i've landed on the optimal way to interact with cybertruck drivers: give them an enthusiastic thumbs up first, before dramatically turning it upside down and scowling. did it this morning and watched the light leave a man's eyes. very powerful

U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg ruled that the Trump administration’s “willful and knowing” actions — and their stonewalling during subsequent hearings — constitute “probable cause for a finding of contempt.”

“I don’t do politics” alright well baby, politics is gonna do you regardless.

Did you know: one of the biggest ways to make a positive environmental impact is to eat plant-based every now & then and also to not go to space

DOGE was never about savings. It was always about surveillance. Over the weekend, we released new details—and now whistleblowers are coming forward too. What’s becoming clearer by the day: DOGE isn’t a government efficiency program. It’s a data weapon aimed at the American people.

If you are looking for 04/19/25 events don’t limit yourself. Many are not listed here. They are listed on Indivisible, Mobilize, and Women’s March sites. Don’t be discouraged thinking things aren’t happening. They just aren’t registering all of them with 50501. See you all out there the 19th!

In "How Democracies Die," Harvard professors Steven Levitsky and Daniel Ziblatt wrote that democratic backsliding "begins at the ballot box." Strongmen get democratically elected, then turn institutions into "political weapons, wielded forcefully by those who control them against those who do not."

Gizhiiwewidamookwe is speaking loud and clear with this statement! No more corporate money messing up our democracy! For the PEOPLE, by the PEOPLE, not corporations!

I don’t think a better headline could have been written about what happened yesterday. www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

It is truly unbelievable that — in its latest letter to Harvard — the admin spends like half its time demanding an end to DEI, then goes on to say that *each department must literally do a DEI* to hire and admit a “critical mass” of conservative faculty and students. Wow

I'm starting a new political party and it's called "Only grassroots and no corporate bullshit" and we will only receive donations from individuals and none from corporations. And we will do is promote campaign finance reform, legislate away Citizens United, and expand access to voting.
