I'm going to bed. Tomorrow will bring even more bad news and I know that my mental health suffers if I don't get enough sleep. At the second company in a row where they rolled out a new HRIS that displays legal names by default. Once again, I’ve had to alert HR to their actual and potential deadnaming of trans employees. It is well past time for HRIS companies to build in better protections against this.

Reminder for my mutuals: misgendering is violence and never okay. No, not even if it is done to "people who deserve it". If your willingness to use the correct pronouns or name for someone depends on if you like them then you're not a safe person to be around. Same if you tolerate when others do it.

Bus drivers are on strike, including the school bus. When I drove my son and a friend to school they complained about the strike and the bus drivers. So I reminded them that in a strike there's one party which can end it immediately - and it's not the people on strike. I hope they got it.
