Also reminder to romance authors that we only shoot ourselves in the foot if we try to play the "but we're not porn" game. Those of us who write hot/queer already get clipped on a regular basis, but nothing is "respectable" enough. Your turn WILL come.

Just me being opinionated but using "romance" to describe your book that does not have a happy ever after or a happy for now ending is a very bad, no good idea. Hell hath no fury like the romance reader misled.

I see people musing that the vibe here has changed, and I would urge people to remember that there's a lot of anxiety about the change of administration in two weeks and that's going to leak into a lot of other places in one's life. Be as gracious as you can with yourself and others.
