Keep in mind that the rule isn't really aimed at the teacher. Teachers usually will do the right thing by their students. No one becomes a teacher because they hate kids. The rule is *really* aimed at undermining kids' trust in the one adult that many kids feel are really on their side. /1

If I ever get around to publishing a sci fi book, I am naming a character cvgfnhfsjiliuposnashiyal, but noting in the sentence in which the character is introduced that half of it is silent. The reader can guess which parts are which.
