Northern Irish, but Cambridge is home. I work in tech with strong opinions on agile and engineering management. Also into government - especially the local kind. Skiing, gym, gin, and video games. 🏳️‍🌈 🇮🇪 🇬🇧

American bluesky: the Nazis are in charge British bluesky: shh I’m stacking pigs

I’m all for being self sufficient with electrics at home. But gosh. 🤯

This is it - automation may take your work, the CFO takes your job.

Really torn how to vote in the Mayoral CPCA elections. I want @anna4labour.bsky.social to win. For sure. But even more than that I want the Tory Clown to lose. I hate voting like I’m in Northern Ireland again.

Anyone got any restaurant recommendations for Barcelona? Sounds like a city where we'll struggle to eat badly, but it's always nice to get the odd suggestion.

Paul Bristow says he’ll ‘keep politics out of the workplace’ - yet his campaign is already mired in scandal, linked to a Tory WhatsApp group using an ableist slur. His ex-aide says she was bullied and smeared, while he threatens legal action instead of addressing it. Not great at politics, is he?

Paul Bristow claims he’ll ‘leave politics to the Mayor’ - then launches a culture war wishlist. No EDI officers? No flexible working? No pronouns? This isn’t governance; it’s posturing. Mayor should focus on housing, transport, and jobs, not performative nonsense www.cambsnews.co.uk/news/bristow...

As the former Sea Tree restaurant is transformed to be Buren at 13-14 The Broadway, Mill Road, #Cambridge there's a brief reminder of when in the 1960's it was W F Webb and Son, radio, television and electrical dealers. #History

Checked out Buren; really good! Steak Haché with creamy peppercorn sauce was spot on; fries top-notch (expected from Leo of Steak & Honour). Service was a bit odd; bantery with strange upselling (who starts with two bottles of wine?). Looking forward to next week; meatballs or hake?

“While SAF has a role to play in decarbonisation, growth sits in clear opposition to its impacts and potential. If the UK has any hope of meeting its climate targets, it should instead be seeking alternatives to flying where possible.”

In general. Nobody cares more than you.

Fined on the spot, too. Cough up or get off the train/tube/whatever. Also, phone manufacturers should ship USB-C earbuds with phones. Part of the problem is that Bluetooth earbuds are expensive and many people just don't own headphones/earbuds these days
