New lab swag 😎

We are seeking a program manager/postdoctoral research fellow to join us. The postdoc will be based at San Francisco State University and serve as a liaison between investigators at @sdsuresearch.bsky.social, @ucdavis.bsky.social, SFSU, national labs @sandialabs.bsky.social @berkeleylab.lbl.gov 1/3

Graduate student Michael Acholonu presenting at the 2025 Stanford Global Health Research Convening on our #antimicrobialresistance work in #wastewater! Read our preprint if you haven’t already: www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1... @sfstatebio.bsky.social

Giving this starter pack a go! To unite over #oyster #reef science and #livingshorelines, microbiological agents in these communities here it is: go.bsky.app/GjU9Mzd Please reach out if you want to be added

Sharing a piece that I wrote that’s very close to my heart and is now published in @cp-trendsmicrobiol.bsky.social. It’s a quick read on pathway programs for increasing inclusion and persistence in microbiology! doi.org/10.1016/j.ti...

Whoo! What happens when you serendipitously reconnect with your high school buddy after 21 years, decide to write a grant together, and get funded! Congratulations to us, @archanand.bsky.social!

I’m thrilled to share that our team has been recommended for the DOE RENEW awards! 🎉 Our #Phage #Pathways program aims to cultivate a new generation of scientists at the intersection of microbial ecology and renewable energy!

Unlocking nature’s secrets: extracting #phages from #oysters for a deeper dive into microbial mysteries! 🦠🌊 #NSF #RAMP

Come work with me! Interested in #phages, #wastewater #hostmicrobe #interactions? My lab is seeking a postdoctoral researcher to do all these amazing things in collaboration with Co-Is and their teams in the DOE BRaVE phagefoundry.org If interested, please DM!

We are thrilled to be here! We study microbes and their interactions in environmental reservoirs such as waste streams, soil and biofilm. Majority of our students are urm and/or first gen! Pl give us a follow! PI: [email protected]

This is what teamwork in the lab looks like - pipettes in hand and smiles on faces! Here’s to DNA extractions from oyster biofilms: saving ecosystems, one test tube at a time. Restoring oysters never looked so fun (or fashionable in lab coats)

Enjoyed sharing our lab’s work on engaging #microbes for #climate action #oyster #restoration at the CCC quarterly meeting. The Olympia oyster is the only native species along the pacific coast, yet its population has declined considerably! Stay tuned for more updates from @theanandlab.bsky.social

We’ve just launched a NBS educational pipeline with ten #communitycolleges. Thanks to the Coastal Conservancy and Kathy Boyer’s commitment to preparing stem learners for the workforce. I’m really excited to be a part of this effort and raise the voices of #microbes in #restoration. 😀🦠

😀 We integrate seasonal stability (persistence) into existing risk assessment frameworks to generate a comprehensive risk profile for ARGs.

New preprint from our lab. Supported by DOE BRaVE www.phagefoundry.org. We introduce a resistance persistence framework to look at #amr in environmental reservoirs such as #waste streams; This work is graduate student led, >50% of authors are URM and/or 1st gen. More here: doi.org/10.1101/2024...

My grad student Michael Hajkowski is presenting at #ABRCMS this week! Find him and his poster to learn about the work we do! He is presenting is on #amr in environmental reservoirs. Check out his latest work in our preprint: doi.org/10.1101/2024...

We are thrilled to be here! We study microbes and their interactions in environmental reservoirs such as waste streams and soil. Our students are 100% URM lab and majority are first-gen. Please give us a follow! PI: @archanand.bsky.social
