Today in socially acceptable racism. Comments are shocking on this. Full of 'Gypsies are thieves and all commit fly tipping' stereotypes. Some saying its not a race thing as they're all just white. www.walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-n...

20 February, 1856 marked the end of over 500 years of chattel slavery of the Romani people in present-day Romania. Roma were also enslaved elsewhere, including the Americas and the Caribbean. The Romani are a global diaspora with our roots in what is now northern India. Opre Roma!

Originalism and persuasive accounts of history are two totally separate enterprises which tells you all you need to know about originalism, and what’s amazing is the legal originalists don’t even deny this anymore.

Must be great to have rule of law www.nytimes.com/2025/02/18/w...

Ninguém solta a mão de ninguém. Nobody let go of anyone's hand. Unless that hand belongs to anyone even peripherally involved with DOGE. Those dipshits can get dropped, preferably from great height.

In Spain, I was walking anywhere between 15 to 20 miles a day. Then I got back and had a cold for 4 days. Then today, in pouring rain and having not run in 2.5 weeks, I knocked 3 minutes off my expected (admittedly slow) 5k time. What I’m saying is, go for walks. It’s good for you.

Underused words of the day: twerp; lickspittle

I know the Trump goons think this is some clever mafia tactic but it's really putting a bunch of sharks in front of their shark peers to see who is going to be the historic chump, the gutless loser, the sniveling weasel with no principles who is so gullible they think they'll get rewarded for it.

I went to the Alcazar and took a picture of a cat.

Opre!

When I was a kid, my grandfather gave me the best advice I’ve ever received: “Some people aren’t going to like you because of how you talk or what you look like or where you’re from or the things you believe in, but you know what? That’s not your problem. They can go to hell. Here, have a cookie.”

Making Americans pay 25% more for coffee and bananas is sure sticking it to, checks notes, Colombia. But those grocery prices, amirite.

One time in law school while representing a client in the tenants’ rights legal clinic, a landlord’s lawyer flipped a table at me during mediation. So I righted it, took him to trial, and then his client had to pay damages to my client. What I’m saying is, never give in to bullies.
