Just going to leave this here for the people who still need a little convincing uscpr.org/activist-res...

About an hour ago a brief attempt by CUNY students to set up a "Liberated Zone" was quickly quashed by campus police and NYPD. Handful of students pepper sprayed. This is aftermath as NYPD moved to clear the area. One arrest confirmed.

I'll be on with Aftermath this afternoon to talk about what's happened around the Xbox boycott since I wrote my piece on games writing during the genocide. I have resisted speaking to any specific circumstances over the past two weeks, so if you have questions now would be the time to ask!

Republished something I wrote a couple years ago that I was fairly proud of. breakingarrows.substack.com/p/homefront-...

i'm not surprised my alma mater that feeds undergrads into defense contractor internships is doing this but it is a sign of how effective the states control over the universities has become over the past 8 years at a school that once celebrated DACA students.

Barnard said it called police to evacuate a pro-Palestine sit in after a bomb threat. But police were there before the threat came in — and no one told students or the public that the threat was against protesters — who were blamed for putting campus at risk theintercept.com/2025/04/24/b...

I really need to update the armored core essay.

ICYMI: I wrote about Lost Records in full—ending and all. Its portrait of rural America is explicitly inspired by Lynch and the music we sought comfort and power in from those particular devils.

Lost Records: Bloom and Rage is one of the girls games of all time. Tape 2 builds on the discordant undertones of what else nostalgia for the '90s means. And continuing that conversation from my first review, I ask: Do you love a disposable lighter, or do you revel in the flame? Walk with me...

We have removed Tenderfoot Tactics from sale on @xbox.com in solidarity with @bdsmovement.bsky.social . We call on others in our community to do whatever they can to fight this historic injustice. Free Palestine 🍉

Really was not expecting Lost Records: Bloom and Rage to hit me the way it did, but damn. A gorgeous game about growing up, learning your relationship to rebellion, and the healing power of punk rock. My review. www.digitaltrends.com/gaming/lost-...

When I left the Washington Post in 2023, my colleagues and I were worried AI would hoover up our work and enable "zombies" to churn out stories based on our reporting and writing styles. Today WaPo announced a partnership with OpenAI. And here it is: Zombie Gillian Brockell. I DID NOT WRITE THIS.
